The little Acorn doesn't fall far from the Democrat tree.

ASSOCIATION OF COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS FOR REFORM NOW (ACORN)
ReplyDeleteThe Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) is a grassroots political organization that grew out of George Wiley's National Welfare Rights Organization (NWRO), whose members in the late 1960s and early 1970s invaded welfare offices across the U.S. -- often violently -- bullying social workers and loudly demanding every penny to which the law "entitled" them. In the late Sixties, ACORN co-founder Wade Rathke was an NWRO organizer and a protegé of Wiley. Rathke also organized a draft-resistance campaign for the militant group Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) during the same period.
In 1970 Rathke -- along with the aforementioned Wiley (who was best known for his effective use of the so-called "Cloward-Piven strategy") and Gary Delgado (a lead organizer for Wiley's NWRO) -- formed a new entity called Arkansas Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN). The group's name was later changed to Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, but the acronym ACORN remained. Instead of focusing only on welfare recipients, ACORN's mandate now included all issues touching low-income and working-class people.
Cloward-Piven is another thread in Obama's history, like Ayers. Obama was at Columbia the same time as Cloward and Piven. A reason why I'm curious about the unreleased transcripts.
The Cloward-Piven strategy revolves around using crisis or creating crisis to advance an political agenda, a hallmark of Obama so far. "We have to do it now or else...."
Many, many threads, all radical leftist.
Oy. I clicked through. (It's bad.)
ReplyDeleteI've got such a great idea for the upcoming holiday season.
ReplyDeleteA James O'Keefe Nutcracker.
It's gonna be huge.
Did anyone just see the latest on Fox? Oh. My. God.
ReplyDeleteTh eguy bragged about having connections for smuggling people across the border, then propositions Hannah?
This is the same organization, to which Obama said, "We're gonna be calling on you to help shape the agenda.."???? Are you shitting me?
I'm still waiting for the Kahlidi tape...
ReplyDeleteLet me amend that - he offers to help smuggle in underage prostitutes...
ReplyDeletewow, stepped up here and found another blast from the past- sage how are ya
ReplyDeletegee, the air smells cleaner around here doncha think.
I just updated the title to better reflect the true nature of what was just shown on Fox News.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, squatch!
ReplyDeleteHallo Sage! :-)
ReplyDeleterain of lead! :-)
Did you make it up here yet, blahblah?
What time is this ACORN tape scheduled for?
ReplyDelete/getting sleepy
//then again, if I watch it I may NOT be able to sleep...
Welcome, Rain of Lead, it's nice to have you here.
ReplyDeleteBare, I'm as disgusted as you about this, but these are 0bama's people and no matter how this plays out, I don't see them being thrown under the bus. We'll hear the blather about pulling funding and noise about cutting ties, but 0bama and ACORN are inseparable, IMO. We may see another dozen tapes but I don't think it will make any difference. ACORN is here to stay, and they will still be spending your money.
Hello again rainoflead, it's that new blog smell. We will have it broken in in no time.
ReplyDelete/hmmm interesting captcha "witchin"
gotta love the tapes, death by 1000 cuts
ReplyDeleteFruit Cup for the needy?
ReplyDeleteFruit Cup for the needy?
/trying an ACORN ploy
I love those captchas, P2. I like imaging their source, what type of document they were originally in.
ReplyDeleteJorline! :-)
ReplyDeleteAlms for the poor? ;-)
HIYA!
Looks like after the tape tonight (about 56 seconds long) there won't be any for a while - they want to let America digest what it has seen, allow the media to play catch-up etc.
ReplyDeleteAs soon as the video is posted, I will update the thread again :)
LoL ... yes the Khalidi tape ... I will never forget that one ...
ReplyDeleteJuan Williams on Fox: (This problem with Acorn) "is minuscule". Nice, eh?
ReplyDeletejorline...
ReplyDeletewow another free soul
tonite could be a party
wonder who else will show up
Hi ya LoL
ReplyDeleteHow is everyone tonight?
LoL ... yes the Khalidi tape ... I will never forget that one ...
ReplyDeleteLooks like you and I are among the few that haven't, ZZ. :-/
Pink ... Juan is crazy ... saying ACORN was not supporting Obama's campaign ... he needs to get his head out of the sand ... he knows the truth he is just not saying it ...
ReplyDeleteHey rain...how are you?
ReplyDeleteBeer?
This is going to be a great site.
Hey Jorline! I just caught a Hannity piece with Juan Williams who appears to be pissed about the Acorn debacle and thinks the focus should instead be on Bernie Madoff and Blackwater.
ReplyDelete/unbelievable
I am aghast. They're even worse than I thought, and I knew they were bad.
ReplyDeleteI haven't forgotten, ZZ and LoL. I would bet that Zom hasn't either.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I don't know how to post links here?
ReplyDeleteHow do you post links?
:(
Off-topic, but just seen on Hot Air:
ReplyDeleteThe FBI’s elite Hostage Rescue Team arrived in New York in anticipation of the offensive to thwart a Denver-based terror cell with ties to Al Qaeda, police sources told the Daily News.
Another source said an earlier raid uncovered nine backpacks and cell phones, raising memories of the March 2004 bombings in Madrid…
Najibullah Zazi, the Colorado man who triggered a rash of Queens raids Monday, was identified through e-mail, wire taps and a confidential informant as part of the plot, the source said…
Zazi was stopped at the George Washington Bridge on his way into the city, sources told The News. Authorities later seized his rental car from a Queens street, sources said.
In the car, sources said the feds found documents and papers about bomb-making and bombs.
Juan sometimes stands on side of right, but this time he has it completely wrong. I'll be nice and keep quiet about what I think about his defense of ACORN.
ReplyDeleteWhat's with Juan Williams? I know he probably has something emotionally invested in the Obama presidency (he cried on the air over it, didn't he?) and must be aware of how connected Obama has been to ACORN - but sometimes things are just so undeniable that he can manage to override his feelings and just be a reporter.
ReplyDeleteCome on, Juan...you know this is huge.
Video available on Fox New site here.
ReplyDeleteHi Pink.
ReplyDeleteJuan's receiving different marching orders now. I heard him this afternoon on Hannity's radio show and he was pissed at acorn...go figure.
They'll just start a new group to fund money to...name change same faces. Perhaps they'll call them asshats.
See the blue bx in the center. It's easy.
ReplyDeleteIt's easy.
jorline, fine thanks.
ReplyDeletebeer, sure want a cold one "catch"
*tosses beer across internet*
IIRC, Juan was for Hillary before he became an Obamabot. But now he's fully converted.
ReplyDeleteBare, that story's been running right under the surface since Sunday night, I believe ...reading between the lines it sounds like it had the potential to be real bad.
ReplyDeletepink...what blue box
ReplyDeleteI don't see no stinkin blue box!

There's no proof, but what is known for certain is ACORN registrations in WA exceeded the margin of victory in a Senate and the Governors race.
D/S, check out this thread (the Help and Support forum announcement thread) - a number of people gave lessons on linking here on Blogspot, and they did a good job. Feel free to practice right on the thread if you like.
ReplyDeleteClick here.
Oops! Too late. What littleoldlady said. (But really, go ahead and use that thread to practice if you like.)
ReplyDeleteBare, that story's been running right under the surface since Sunday night, I believe ...reading between the lines it sounds like it had the potential to be real bad.
ReplyDeleteTrue. But still. When you actually see it. And to have it so blunt and just "boom" right out with it, well, you know.
Correct, Phil.
ReplyDelete/verybigsigh
I would have been mortified by FEWER of my co-religionists had it been made public.
/maybe
//I hope :-/
JCM, how different might things look in Washington state had these people been stopped a long time ago?
ReplyDeletenope
ReplyDeleteThanks RB..."O" will get comfortable with all of his new programs and wish list...Al Qaeda is wide awake and planning.
ReplyDeleteFormer Sec. of HUD Henry Cisnoros is on the board of directors of ACORN, ACORN is up to its neck in FHA loans, many of the part time help at ACORN are full time workers at HUD.
ReplyDeleteIf they look at it, the whole thing will come unwound, "dishonest nation".
Yep, Jorline. They're completely intertwined with state and local agencies and funding. The network is huge ...I started following a thread on them the other day through research into a very-distant agency, and it's just stunning to see the network in place.
ReplyDeleteThanks rain, good to see you again.
ReplyDeleteRoL ... leave them behind ... starting out fresh ... need to keep it clean here ... it will be good ... I emailed you and momcat just now ...

In 08 it was a rematch, with the (D) incumbent running a surplus in the budget, with Rossi saying there was really a deficit.
The (D) comfortably this time, but within days of the election...

If Obama doesn't throw them under the bus, he looks like he is ok with it all, etc... and it screws him hard.
ReplyDeleteif he does throw them under the bus, they'll go after him - they play for keeps, and they probably know "where a few bodies are buried" in Obama's "community organizer" past.
Heh.
Perfectly okay, ETR. No sweat.
ReplyDeleteAnd others may not yet understand what our policy is regarding that stuff, but that's okay too - we'll just let them know.
Eyes...closing...

ETR,
ReplyDeleteA woman applying for a job in a Florida lemon grove seemed to be far too qualified for the job.
The foreman frowned and said, "I have to ask you this; "Have you had any actual experience in picking lemons?"
"Well, as a matter of fact, I have!" she replied.
"I've been divorced three times, owned 2 Plymouths, and I voted for Obama."
And there's no shot for this. He's keeping this forever, like luggage.
ReplyDeletePolitical Herpes.
"I've been divorced three times, owned 2 Plymouths, and I voted for Obama."

ReplyDeleteCorrupt Dem. Lawmaker Behind Wilson Rebuke
A deadbeat California congresswoman who funded her political campaigns with money from foreclosed homes is behind the admonishment of a fellow lawmaker who interrupted a presidential speech.
Ironically, the troubled and ethically challenged lawmaker behind the action has gone virtually unscathed by the House even though her wrongdoing has been well documented in news reports nationwide. Richardson borrowed $200,000 from three properties before defaulting on the loans and she owes the state she represents in the U.S. House thousands in property taxes. Richardson used the cash to finance her political career and claims she can’t repay the money even though her legislative annual salary is $169,300.

2. Honduras

ReplyDeleteShe's a piece of work.
She's a piece of work.
ReplyDeletePlease, please please!!! let her sue! Let her explain why ACORN is operating without a charter in MD. Let her explain why any ACORN employee would counsel a hooker trying to start up a business with underage sex slaves. I can't wait to see what happens during discovery.
Oh, I'm with you. I'd stock up on popcorn for that.
