A former employee calls them "the most corrupt group in the country..." - with video, courtesy News Busters.

And, if you're interested, there's always the SEIU Underage Sex/Child Porn Scandal to tide you over while we wait.

UPDATE: Title change to reflect the true horror of this organization.

  5. ASSOCIATION OF COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS FOR REFORM NOW (ACORN)

The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) is a grassroots political organization that grew out of George Wiley's National Welfare Rights Organization (NWRO), whose members in the late 1960s and early 1970s invaded welfare offices across the U.S. -- often violently -- bullying social workers and loudly demanding every penny to which the law "entitled" them. In the late Sixties, ACORN co-founder Wade Rathke was an NWRO organizer and a protegé of Wiley. Rathke also organized a draft-resistance campaign for the militant group Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) during the same period.

In 1970 Rathke -- along with the aforementioned Wiley (who was best known for his effective use of the so-called "Cloward-Piven strategy") and Gary Delgado (a lead organizer for Wiley's NWRO) -- formed a new entity called Arkansas Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN). The group's name was later changed to Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, but the acronym ACORN remained. Instead of focusing only on welfare recipients, ACORN's mandate now included all issues touching low-income and working-class people.

Cloward-Piven is another thread in Obama's history, like Ayers. Obama was at Columbia the same time as Cloward and Piven. A reason why I'm curious about the unreleased transcripts.

The Cloward-Piven strategy revolves around using crisis or creating crisis to advance an political agenda, a hallmark of Obama so far. "We have to do it now or else...."

Many, many threads, all radical leftist.

  14. Welcome, Rain of Lead, it's nice to have you here.

Bare, I'm as disgusted as you about this, but these are 0bama's people and no matter how this plays out, I don't see them being thrown under the bus. We'll hear the blather about pulling funding and noise about cutting ties, but 0bama and ACORN are inseparable, IMO. We may see another dozen tapes but I don't think it will make any difference. ACORN is here to stay, and they will still be spending your money.

  20. Looks like after the tape tonight (about 56 seconds long) there won't be any for a while - they want to let America digest what it has seen, allow the media to play catch-up etc.

  32. Off-topic, but just seen on Hot Air:

The FBI’s elite Hostage Rescue Team arrived in New York in anticipation of the offensive to thwart a Denver-based terror cell with ties to Al Qaeda, police sources told the Daily News.

Another source said an earlier raid uncovered nine backpacks and cell phones, raising memories of the March 2004 bombings in Madrid…

Najibullah Zazi, the Colorado man who triggered a rash of Queens raids Monday, was identified through e-mail, wire taps and a confidential informant as part of the plot, the source said…

Zazi was stopped at the George Washington Bridge on his way into the city, sources told The News. Authorities later seized his rental car from a Queens street, sources said.

In the car, sources said the feds found documents and papers about bomb-making and bombs.

  33. Juan sometimes stands on side of right, but this time he has it completely wrong. I'll be nice and keep quiet about what I think about his defense of ACORN.

    ReplyDelete
  34. What's with Juan Williams? I know he probably has something emotionally invested in the Obama presidency (he cried on the air over it, didn't he?) and must be aware of how connected Obama has been to ACORN - but sometimes things are just so undeniable that he can manage to override his feelings and just be a reporter.

Come on, Juan...you know this is huge.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Hi Pink.

Juan's receiving different marching orders now. I heard him this afternoon on Hannity's radio show and he was pissed at acorn...go figure.

They'll just start a new group to fund money to...name change same faces. Perhaps they'll call them asshats.

  64. If Obama doesn't throw them under the bus, he looks like he is ok with it all, etc... and it screws him hard.

if he does throw them under the bus, they'll go after him - they play for keeps, and they probably know "where a few bodies are buried" in Obama's "community organizer" past.

    Heh.

Corrupt Dem. Lawmaker Behind Wilson Rebuke

A deadbeat California congresswoman who funded her political campaigns with money from foreclosed homes is behind the admonishment of a fellow lawmaker who interrupted a presidential speech.

Ironically, the troubled and ethically challenged lawmaker behind the action has gone virtually unscathed by the House even though her wrongdoing has been well documented in news reports nationwide. Richardson borrowed $200,000 from three properties before defaulting on the loans and she owes the state she represents in the U.S. House thousands in property taxes. Richardson used the cash to finance her political career and claims she can’t repay the money even though her legislative annual salary is $169,300.
