Brezinski Calls for Obama to Shoot Down Israeli Jets; "A Liberty in Reverse"
In a little noticed interview with the Daily Beast Zbigniew Brzezinski suggests that Barack Obama do more than just refuse to support an Israeli strike on Iran's nuclear sites -- the American president must give the order to shoot down Israeli aircraft as they cross Iraqi airspace:
DB: How aggressive can Obama be in insisting to the Israelis that a military strike might be in America’s worst interest?
Brzezinski: We are not exactly impotent little babies. They have to fly over our airspace in Iraq. Are we just going to sit there and watch?
DB: What if they fly over anyway?
Brzezinski: Well, we have to be serious about denying them that right. That means a denial where you aren’t just saying it. If they fly over, you go up and confront them. They have the choice of turning back or not. No one wishes for this but it could be a Liberty in reverse.
He was wonderful! A few years back I heard him sounding not so good, and I thought, "Oh man, I hope he's not losing it."
He's not. He sounds like he did when he was a young man. He did everything in the same key he always did (sometimes as singers age and years of abuse take their toll, they lower keys), hit all the high notes, everything perfectly in tune (with the exception of one of the male background singers who rode the high side of the pitch, but only when he riffed on an outchorus) - he was really great. Really, really great.
I haven't heard much today. That's the news cycle, I guess.
But I'd better get to sleep or there's no way I'll be up for the early games in the morning. (There will be a thread up at 9:30AM PST/12:30 EST...NFL Week Two. Do you like football, or will you be shopping? ; )
Just one little word change in the headline and...ALL BETTER!
Barack Obama will meet Tuesday in New York with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas ... The announcement changed the Mideast headline from “stalemate” to “breakthrough” as the Obama administration enters a week in which foreign policy takes center stage, with the president appearing at both the opening of the United Nations General Assembly and the G20 economic meetings in Pittsburgh ... But all parties say it's unlikely the Tuesday meeting will be accompanied by a long-sought announcement on the resumption of peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians. That requires still more negotiations.
If you go by the MSM, Obama is the most successful President in the history of the universe!
President Barack Obama on Friday acknowledged that some Americans don’t like him because of the color of his skin — but argued that the vast majority of his political opponents simply disagree with him on the merits of the issues.
He offered that same answer – virtually word for word — to questions about race posed by some of the five Sunday show anchors he sat down with Friday at the White House.
As he takes the stage to address the United Nations for the first time Wednesday, Obama will face world leaders -- adversaries and allies alike -- whose rebukes of the new American president serve as reminders that the world's differences with the United States transcend who is in the White House.
Okay, fellow racists...you have articles, a flowchart, a holiday cartoon and some music. Amuse yourselves for a bit while I tend to people and animals.
Yeah, I have been listening to those selections too. You can find turntables out there. The bad news is that they are really expensive now. The good news is that they are high quality.
Good morning campers!! (hefts two LARGE bags of bagels and bialy's on the buffet near the fruitcup). These are from our friend maudgonne.
I sure hope y'all are doing well this morning. It's a coolish day (64 degrees going up to 80 degrees with much more rain on the way) here in an overcast and slightly raining Charlotte! Oh,yeah, I see that TypePad has given me my number and taken away my name!
Well, good morning. It's been an interesting week.
Poland and the CR are feeling abandoned, with Eastern Europe questioning if the US will honor any commitments previously made....
Obama seems to think the Russians will help with sanctions over Iran with this BMD withdrawal, while Medvedev stated that BMD withdrawal was the payback for the Russians allowing supply routes to Afghanistan.
On the announcement of BMD withdrawal, Russia agreed to suspend its plan to station Iskander short range missiles in Kalinigrad. The interesting thing is, those missiles don't have enough range to reach any of the (former) BMD sites. Which means O will call this a win.
The Russians have now openly threatened the Georgian Navy (what's left of it).
Sanctions against Iran is looking weaker, what with the Russians not thinking BMD was enough, and pissing China off late last week over 35% tariffs on Chinese tires.
*snapping fingers* SECRET.... AGENT MAN, SECRET AGENT MAN They've given you a number, and taken away your name dum de dum de dum de dum dum de dum de...............oops, did I just sing that out loud?! *cough* sorry y'all!
Hey Sasquatch - y'all go ahead and rant - as Bare said above and as we kinda kicked around some last night, the idea, pushed by Zibignew Brezisnsky (and no I don't know and he's too insignificant a pos for me to look up the correct spelling) one of President Obama's Foreign Policy and National Security "experts" suggested that the United States should shoot down any Israeli aircraft that fly over Iraq on their way to bomb the nuclear facilities in Iran. Y'all remember good ole Ziby, doncha? He's the guy who helped then President Carter allow Ayatollah Kohmeni take over Iran, Iran take over our embassy, hold 54 American civilians hostage for 444 days and had President Carter IMMEDIATLEY take "off the table" the use of Military Force to obtain the release of our citizens ? Then orchestrated that farce of a rescue attempt in the desert (through no fault of the brave US troops involved) when Carter started plummeting in the polls against Reagan. In fact, can anyone, ANYONE tell the class ANYTHING GOOD that Ziby did in the foreign policy/US security fields when Carter was President? Anyone?
I seem to remember that Jack Daniels goes really well with Bagels and even better with Bialys! For that matter the only thing Jack D. doesn't go well with (sorry, I quit drinking 6 years or so ago) is chocolate. That's It.
DENVER – The FBI arrested a 24-year-old Colorado man on charges of making false statements to federal agents in an ongoing terror investigation, and supporting documents contend the man admitted receiving weapons and explosives training from al-Qaida in Pakistan.

Hmm, now this is interesting: Daily Presidential Tracking Poll Sunday, September 20, 2009 The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 31% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty percent (40%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -9 (see trends). http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

Hey there boldandbald - this is realwest, formerly known as, uh, realwest! Great timing on my part, getting back here in time to see you! How the hell are ya Ford, I mean boldandbald?
CRAP! I HATE THIS BLOGSPOT! Not only doesn't it give out my name, but no avatar either and when I went to post those stupid letters next to the handicapped sign, I got a message that said someone else posted at the same time! ARGGGHHH!
Lucky for me, Bare found the thread out there in the ethernet...

Speaking of Bare...he posted something at the end of Liberty Pub I that's very likely to go unseen so I will repost here:

1. Thanks for fruitcup. 2. How do I find an avatar and load it? 3. May I call 6p00e55005f9c78834, 6p for short? 4. I'm weary of all this bad news from "them." 5. Last, but certainly not least, I LOVE what you're doing with this place. It's such a privilege to be here. Thanks.
1. You're welcome! :-) 2. I think it has to come from your computer, so whatever you can download and then upload SHOULD (using the term VERY loosely!) work. 3. I think somebody already named him 3CPO ;-) 4. "They" stink! 5. See number 1! LOL!
Good morning {gettinby}No you may NOT call me 6P for short - or for long! I'm realwest and I can't even get my name to show on the screen and you think maybe I could help you with an Avatar?!? Oh and btw, as I posted somewhere up above, there are still bagels and bialy's left from our friend maudgonne! Help yourselves all - some of us had (urp, sorry!) eaten our fill!
Whoa, good morning {Miss Trixie} *Smooch* - hey, don't act like that, this is realwest! And good morning tfk my friend! Really good to see all y'all this morning!
{realwest} Morning, luv, *smoochie-smooch* Interesting, um, avatar, you've got there. Makes you look like a calculus whiz. :D
We've a gorgeous, late summer day filled with sinshine and soon Lil Miss and I will mosey on out to terrorize the 'hood. She had a bath yesterday 'cause she rolled in something very sticky and VERY stinky and she's now a Pantene Grrrrrrl like her momma.
I'll be making a lasagna later today and my house smells marvy with garlic, onions, tomatoes and red wine simmering away into gastronomical happiness.
And even if it's true, can we PLEASE leave the GOP smacking around to others? We have leadership - we just don't like it! Just saw a poll of Fox that showed Huckabee with 28%, and Palin, Romney and a bunch of folks called "Hey You" each got 12% of the polling done at some Evangelical Christian gathering.
---The ‘elites’ aimed to replace Berlusconi with a government made up of unelected technical experts whose real task would be to defend their own wealth and power, said Brunetta, whose drive to improve public sector efficiency have made him one of Berlusconi’s most high profile and popular ministers.’
Leaders of the opposition Democratic Party dismissed Brunetta’s comments as ‘vulgar,’ ‘populist’ and ‘delirious’.---
Hi tfk, gettinby, Miss Trixie, Zigzagging. Just lurking here and getting up the energy to get moving. Have to go walk a dog before I go slay dragons. ;)
Hey Enuff - good morning to you! I'll betcha OUR Elites are worse than their elites any day of the week! We got your Kerry, Pelosi,Edwards and a bunch of other zillionaires (ok, SLGHT exaggeration) all of whom purport to speak for the "litle people" and the poor and downtrodden. I honestly don't know how they can look in a mirror at all anymore, they are the worst of the Elites because they take OUR MONEY and give it (after it passes through several beauarcratic hands, of course) to the poor and downtrodden in THEIR names. Our elites just love to play with OPM and pretend it's theirs.
Hi Callahan23 - Good morn, ah, afternoon?! to you!! It is indeed good to see you again my friend. I'm doing ok, I guess - how's about yourownself? (or if you speak proper English) how's about yourself? [GAD, I'd kill for a Spellcheck on this blogsptot!]
Um, you know those whacky letters y'all gotta type in to get your comment posted? Am I the only one to whom they seem to actually sorta make sense - you know, look like real words?!?
I am good thanks. Life sucks on many ends. But I am doing good and am stable. Long time friends turn out to be only fair weather friends and such crap. I guess I need some vacation, which I am gonna take from the 3rd through to the 18th of October. Yay, not much in the way of a vacation but at least I'll not be working and probably a few days out of town (something like a week). I really am looking forward to it.
Hey real...the Dem's busted the mirror years ago now we're suffering the bad luck.
Russia, China, Iran..even Yugo Hugo..look down with such disdain on the Euro's, they even act like they don't exist. Our problem, I think, is that Obama would love to join those Tyrannical-4 thinking - very naively - everything would be just hunky-dory.(NOT!) Get a load of this: U.S. missile defense plan change made Russia "less paranoid" - Obama
---"If the by-product of it is that the Russians feel a little less paranoid and are now willing to work more effectively with us to deal with threats like ballistic missiles from Iran or nuclear development in Iran, then that's a bonus," Obama told the Face the Nation show on CBS aired on Sunday.---
President Barack Obama says he has no plans to ask the Justice Department to end its criminal investigation into the harsh interrogations of suspected terrorists during the Bush administration.
Seven former CIA directors have asked the president to do just that. In a letter to Obama on Friday, they warned that the probe could discourage CIA officers from doing the kind of aggressive intelligence work needed to fight terrorism.
Obama tells CBS' "Face the Nation" that he appreciates that the former CIA chiefs are wanting "to look after an institution that they helped to build."
Obama says he wants to make sure that he's not somehow overruling the decisions of prosecutors such as Attorney General Eric Holder who are there to uphold the law.
Hey enuff! If that's a BONUS what was the original payoff? I mean why deny folks who REALLY DO WANT TO BE OUR ALLIES AND FRIENDS if we aren't getting anything back for it? A Bonus would be nice, but I'd like to see what was in the paycheck to begin with.
Oh and speaking of paychecks, latest government numbers showed that 46 out of the 50 states saw an increase in unemployment in the last quarter and especially the last MONTH.
---"If the by-product of it is that the Russians feel a little less paranoid and are now willing to work more effectively with us to deal with threats like ballistic missiles from Iran or nuclear development in Iran, then that's a bonus," Obama told the Face the Nation show on CBS aired on Sunday.---
What a naive fool. If he did NOT get anything from them to start with, which I highly doubt anything they say they'd do would actually happen, then he's not just a fool, he's a dangerous fool.
World leaders respected Reagan. They do not respect this man.
sho Enuff! LOL! I posted the Rasmussen poll about 50 or so comments up above. But what really, REALLY counts is the 2010 congressional elections. The Gop needs to take enough Senate seats (and hold on to it's own) to take that damned 51 vote "Nuclear Option" away from the Dems. How in the HELL did Al FRANKEN - AL FRANKEN!! - get elected to the US Senate? And no it wasn't all trickery, fraud and ACORN - shoulda been enough voters up there to not have made it even close; Coleman deserved to win re-election.
"World leaders respected Reagan. They do not respect this man." Hell, World leaders were afraid of Reagan - viz. the release of the Hostages when Reagan was elected. As a political leader, I'd sure as hell rather be respected or feared than "loved" - and to hell with the damn unicorns.
real - we've changed our whole defensive posture with that gawd-damned stupid move.
You watch Putin & Co. capitalize this move and go for a dilution of Nato with the US playing some increasingly diminutive role with defense becoming more 'Eurocentric'. Putin & the Mullah's have been working to exploit this fissure for the last 8 years - Obama just gave it away.
Enuff - yeah, and I wonder just how much our European allies will LOVE THE US AGAIN once they figure out that in terms of military defense, they're pretty much on their own. Let's see how well their socialist systems work when they have to provide their own military defense. And, btw, I don't think Obama was stupid with this manouver - I think he damn well knew what he was doing (see, e.g., the World Apology Tours).
SOS - yeppers, the Obama has Carter's approval. Well except in public when Carter (I always leave my brain at home so it doesn't get tired from working too hard) trotted out that RACIST line - Axelrod, uh, Obama was right there to reject that litle trial balloon Carter tried to float.
Apparently,CNN has an interview braodcast today with Medvedev claiming that Peres told him Israel won't attack Iran. Also saying that no action against Iran except as last resort (spit). I'll try and dig it up.
Asked about the possible delivery of advanced S-300 anti-aircraft missiles, Medvedev said Russia had the right to sell defensive weapons to Iran. He said sanctions are often ineffective and no action should be taken against Iran, except as a last resort.
Speaking of the Poles and Czechs. Here is a self translated headline from the Polish tabloid "Fakt" which I of course read in a translated from in German. "What were we naive! BETRAYAL! The U.S. has sold us out to Russia and pushed the dagger in our backs."
And here is a Google translated article in the German newspaper (respected)'Die Welt '.
Well y'all I REALLY hate to say this (no, actually I don't) but I really don't think Medved (Putin) ought to be setting the table for the United States foreign policy, ya know?
The real problem is that the Left (and Obama) think in terms of One World, not nation states, and since they are oblivious to the fact that NO ONE ELSE AGREES with them (other than other cynical politicial types, college students, idealists and the young) we are in a really tough situation.
“For us to say that you’ve got to take a responsibility to get health insurance is absolutely not a tax increase,” Obama said in an interview on ABC’s “This Week” program. “Right now everybody in America, just about, has to get auto insurance. Nobody considers that a tax increase.”
Hey Callahan23 - isn't a lot of that just intra nation politicing? I mean it seems to me that the same folks who are saying that were opposed to the missile plan in the first place and are now looking to make political capital at home to win votes.
Lithuania, the largest of the three Baltic states that broke free from the Soviet Union and joined NATO after the Cold War, viewed the missile shield as a symbol of U.S. resolve, Kubilius said.
Effing Obama has me hot this morning. Feckless fool.
Real, the Czechs and Poles are a totally different crop compared to the western Europeans. They very recently came out of totalitarianism and most do remember that. They are the most freedom loving folks in the EU and regularly confront the old Europe with their desire for more freedom. They have every darn right to feel betrayed by BH Obama. Sorry I needed to rant as I am myself fed up with this 'olde Europe' way of thinking.
“For us to say that you’ve got to take a responsibility to get health insurance is absolutely not a tax increase,” Obama said in an interview on ABC’s “This Week” program. “Right now everybody in America, just about, has to get auto insurance. Nobody considers that a tax increase.”
Driving is a PRIVILEGE, you dingleberry.
Very true Sas. and last I looked, if you dont have car insurance, the I.R.S. doesn't fine you for it.
Hey Sasquatch - don't let 'em get you too hot. I hate to be this COLD AND CALCULATING, but where else are they gonna turn? I HATE what Obama is doing to us here at home and genuinely fear what he is in the process of doing in OUR NAME abroad, but in reality, where else is Czech or Poland or Lithuania gonna go to for help? They sure as hell will never voluntarily go to Russia.
I'm back. What a beeeYOOOOOtiful day. I've all the doors and windows wide open, tuckered out Lil Miss is snoring on the Commie Sofa with a full belly and football's next while I finish making lasagna.
Good morning DEZ! This is realwest -never mind the stupid numbers TypePad has stuck me with - as I said waaaaay above thread, they've given me a number and taken away my name! How are you this morni.....afternoon?!
A politically incorrect pooch delivered a stream of consciousness protest Saturday as Libyan officials rolled out the red carpet for dictator Moammar Khadafy.
Maggie the dog was out for a walk when she responded to the pomp by taking a pee on the lush rug outside the Libyan Mission - a gesture appreciated by many New Yorkers with little use for the notorious colonel.
"The dog had excellent taste," said Mark Birnbaum, 57, a Mission neighbor who watched the whole thing. "She's a sweetheart."
Aggravated Libyan officials were forced to cut away a section of the carpet that stretched across the E. 48th St. sidewalk from the curbs to the steps.
Callahan23 my friend, I realize that Poland and Czech have recently come out from under the Iron Boot, but you know East Germany, Austria, Hungary and all were under the same boot - the REAL PROBLEM is, as I stated above, Obama and the Left do think in one-world terms and there isn't a hell of a lot we can do about it right now except protest and TRY LIKE HELL to get One House in Congress more or less back into our hands; America doesn't function well as a one-party state, whether or not that one party is Democrat or Republican.
Yet. Who the hell knows what they'll reach for next.
Morning, DEZ.
Maybe fines for unhealthy activity, who knows. But I have seen to many small towns count on fines as revenue, through speed traps etc. Obama can call it a fine all he wants, but he knows full well its revenue.
Hey y'all - things do seem to be heating up some here, and just to be on the safe side, I'm repeating something littleoldlady said earlier (quoting Running Bare): I'd like to take a moment to say "Thank you" to everyone who came along and posted that certain things are not what C2 is about. I appreciate that, and I'm glad that this thread did not degenerate into bashing of other blogs, etc...

Hey DEZ - thanks for the kind offer of fixing up my name/number TypePad, but we will hopefully be moving to our permanent home soon, and so I don't think it's worth the time and effort to fix TypePad now. But thank you anyway!
I see the new 'Blackwater' for the left is now Inter-Risk, a private security firm in Pakistan.
The left will have their little hissy fit without having any understanding on why that company was raided.
Private security contractors in Pakistan are licensed in the same way the mafia would license businesses if they had the power of the government. Each firearm is supposed to be registered so what happens is the firms register (for a hefty fee) a couple of old firearms and hide the rest.
Every freaking person and his cousin is armed in Pakistan. They have open air weapons bazaars. The weapons registration is limited to private companies and is nothing more than their own form of legalized extortion.
This firm was raided so the Paki government wouldn't look nearly as impotent when it comes to Americans and the future embassy expansion. I hate to say it but I wouldn't be completely shocked to find out this particular company was handed over to the Pakistani police.

ReplyDeleteGood morning littleoldlady. Slightly hungover today. Got too much into the whole pirate role yesterday and the rum didn't help.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I know. Those two cokes really messed me up, too! ;-)
ReplyDeleteBut it was fun. I was afraid we were going to miss it because we were closed so much of the day yesterday. Too bad it's only once a year...
Yeah, I was throwing around the pirate music like mad at the beginning. :)
ReplyDelete/even two pieces from Muppet Treasure Island.
So much material...only one day! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI got into Peter Pan and Hook, myself.
And right now I'm moving from one piece of Lovin' Spoonful to the next. (See my triple play music post above.)
ReplyDeleteI have all these songs on LPs...somewhere. Now if I only had a turntable that worked I'd be in business!
Yeah, I have been listening to those selections too. You can find turntables out there. The bad news is that they are really expensive now. The good news is that they are high quality.
ReplyDeleteMy records are probably all scratched to death. :-(
ReplyDeleteEasier to find a "Best of..." CD in the $5 bin anyway. ;-)
ReplyDeleteyeah, you are right about that.
ReplyDeleteLovin' Spoonful on Shindig. LOL! 1965.
ReplyDelete/what am I laughing about?! Being forced to say "I remember that from 40+ years ago"?! NOT FUNNY!
Hullabaloo!
ReplyDeleteHey littleoldlady, saying you remember it from that long ago isn't that bad. My "good" memory goes back 30+ years as it is. Age is relative. :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I turned 40 I got the funniest phone call from my mother...
ReplyDelete"Enjoy 40! It's the best years of a woman's life."
"Well, yeah Mom. If I was *70* I'm sure I would say that, too!"
Mama was right...
/verybigsigh
Good morning campers!! (hefts two LARGE bags of bagels and bialy's on the buffet near the fruitcup). These are from our friend maudgonne.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope y'all are doing well this morning.
It's a coolish day (64 degrees going up to 80 degrees with much more rain on the way) here in
an overcast and slightly raining Charlotte!
Oh,yeah, I see that TypePad has given me my number and taken away my name!
Mothers are always right.
ReplyDelete/double big sigh...
//sometimes they will sit back and watch you explode too.
Well, good morning.
ReplyDeleteIt's been an interesting week.
Other than that, it's all good.
/Sorry for the rant.
Good morning realwest. Things are cool up here. Got down into the single digits last night (celsius that is).
ReplyDelete/scoops a couple of bialy's
realwest! ;-)
ReplyDelete*snapping fingers* SECRET.... AGENT MAN, SECRET AGENT MAN They've given you a number, and taken away your name dum de dum de dum de dum dum de dum de...............oops, did I just sing that out loud?!

ReplyDeleteWe're all distressed. :-( RANT ON.
Oh, I didn't think of THAT one, realwest!
ReplyDeleteWe're all distressed. :-( RANT ON.
ReplyDeleteBe not distressed, LoL.
Agent 6p00e55005f9c78834 is here !
Morning realwest and Phil
Now in Johnny Rivers mode.
ReplyDelete/sheesh
//oh well...thanks to "our" music old age is at least somewhat fun. ;-)
Morning sasquatch. I would advise in buying stocks that invest in brewery's and distilleries for the next couple of years.
ReplyDelete/Every time I see the world news I want to drink heavily...
Hey Sasquatch - y'all go ahead and rant - as Bare said above and as we kinda kicked around
ReplyDeletesome last night, the idea, pushed by Zibignew Brezisnsky (and no I don't know and he's too insignificant a pos for me to look up the correct spelling) one of President Obama's Foreign Policy and National Security "experts" suggested that the United States should shoot down any Israeli aircraft that fly over Iraq on their way to bomb the nuclear facilities in Iran.
Anyone?
/Every time I see the world news I want to drink heavily...
ReplyDeleteA most excellent idea.
Just pour it right on the Fruity Pebbles.
Anyone?
ReplyDeleteNope.
bbiab...talloldman is listening to the music and he says it's time to DANCE.
ReplyDelete/calling my physical therapist and personal trainer and telling them to stand by ;-)

littleoldlady: Awww, that's so sweet....
ReplyDeleteI seem to remember that Jack Daniels goes really well with Bagels and even better with Bialys!
ReplyDeleteFor that matter the only thing Jack D. doesn't go well with (sorry, I quit drinking 6 years or so ago) is chocolate. That's It.
I prefer Millhouse Coffee Porter over my Cocoa Puffs. :)
ReplyDeletelol, that might work.
Good Morning C2ers. Quick drive by to say hi and grab fruitcup. See you all later, after Mass. :)))
ReplyDeleteI see the new 'Blackwater' for the left is now Inter-Risk, a private security firm in Pakistan.

ReplyDeleteI will not ask how you know that.
Duly noted.
3 arrested for false statements in terror probe
ReplyDeleteDENVER – The FBI arrested a 24-year-old Colorado man on charges of making false statements to federal agents in an ongoing terror investigation, and supporting documents contend the man admitted receiving weapons and explosives training from al-Qaida in Pakistan.
Hey littleoldlady! I was just perusing the thread and noticed SEVERAL places where you were virtually (I hope ONLY virtually!) talking to yourself!

ReplyDeleteDaily Presidential Tracking Poll
Sunday, September 20, 2009
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 31% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty percent (40%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -9 (see trends).
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll
"Nice, I'm enjoying this one in my new chair"
ReplyDeleteWTH? $7 grand for a chair that goes Vroom Vroom and reclines?! Sasquatch, that sucker doesn't even play music/movies unless you pay another 5-10K for it!
What's interesting is that Obama went into single digit negative numbers after being double digits for a few weeks.
ReplyDelete/all those TV appearances?
Looks as though he's tracking up (actually DOWN) now, though.
Sasquatch, that sucker doesn't even play music/movies unless you pay another 5-10K for it!
ReplyDeleteCrazy, isn't it ?
What's crazier is if they've sold some of 'em.
Hey y'all (y'all apparently being only littleoldlady and Sasquatch!) I gotta step out for a minute and lol, you've got mail!!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Corresponders!
ReplyDeletePoster formerly known as Ford_Prefect here.
Can't stick around long, but I just wanted to stop in and say hi. I look forward to spending some time here, if I can ever find any to spend. It is nice to see some familiar names here.
boldandbald! :-)
ReplyDeleteLOVE the nik! Hiya Ford! Welcome!
Hey there boldandbald - this is realwest, formerly known as, uh, realwest!
ReplyDeleteGreat timing on my part, getting back here in time to see you!
How the hell are ya Ford, I mean boldandbald?
Hey boldandbald. Welcome to our new home. This is just the transitory place. The proper place will be up this week apparently.
ReplyDeleteI am good, Real. Just very busy. How about you? How have you been?
ReplyDeleteFrom your lips to G-d's ears, Phil!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Ya'll ... hello to Boldandbald ... just another drive-by as I am going to work this morning ... blah ...
ReplyDeleteWill check in later tonight ... what is the update on the move? ... oh, and once again ... I have taken all the kiwi out of the fruitcup ...
Nice to see you again, boldandbald.
ReplyDeleteHi, Littleoldlady and Phil.
ReplyDeleteQuestion - do you always have to put in the code word thing?
Kiwi is always up for grabs, as far as I'm concerned! ;-)
ReplyDelete'Morning, ZZ! We'll be moving any day now.
How will I know about the move?
ReplyDeleteB&B,
ReplyDeletePain in the butt, ain't it? :-( One of the MANY reasons we are all chomping at the bit to get to our "real" bloghome.
/I'm not going to tell you how much I dislike Blogspot, because when I did that last night AN ENTIRE THREAD went POOF!
B&B,
ReplyDeleteHow did you get here? Does someone have your email?
Erik the Red knows how to get to me. He sent me the link.
ReplyDeleteOkay, make sure Erik has the email you want to use. (Not just Facebook link.) Invitations will be going out...
ReplyDeleteOK thanks. Gotta go now. Talk to you all later!
ReplyDeleteCRAP! I HATE THIS BLOGSPOT! Not only doesn't it give out my name, but no avatar either and when I went to post those stupid letters next to the handicapped sign, I got a message that said someone else posted at the same time!
ReplyDeleteARGGGHHH!
Morning...good morning Lol, B&B, SoS, zig...Erik, everyone.
ReplyDeleteAre we havin' fun yet and who the hell dumped a bowl of fruitcup on my head?
Lucky for me, Bare found the thread out there in the ethernet...
ReplyDelete/and I didn't get fired! ;-)
Speaking of Bare...he posted something at the end of Liberty Pub I that's very likely to go unseen so I will repost here:

ReplyDelete1. Thanks for fruitcup.
2. How do I find an avatar and load it?
3. May I call 6p00e55005f9c78834, 6p for short?
4. I'm weary of all this bad news from "them."
5. Last, but certainly not least, I LOVE what you're doing with this place. It's such a privilege to be here. Thanks.
enuff! :-)
ReplyDeleteWell the good news is that there's no kiwi in the fruitcup anymore.
/that stuff can REALLY mess up your hair! ;-)
gettinby! :-)
ReplyDeleteI thought of you just as I threw a load of laundry in a while ago.
/wonder why? ;-) ;-) ;-)
yeah, I mentioned some thing last night. Skated a little close to the edge on that one.
ReplyDelete/I blame the rum...
Note to file:
ReplyDelete"Them" meaning the WH and Congress.
littleoldlady!
ReplyDeleteSheets just went in (following towels). It's karma, I just know it. ;)
1. You're welcome! :-)
ReplyDelete2. I think it has to come from your computer, so whatever you can download and then upload SHOULD (using the term VERY loosely!) work.
3. I think somebody already named him 3CPO ;-)
4. "They" stink!
5. See number 1! LOL!
LittleOldLady ... the troubles will soon be over ... and it will be good ...
ReplyDeleteMeet Me In The Morning ... Bob

Laundry Karma.
ReplyDelete/a contradiction in terms? ;-)
Good morning! :D
ReplyDeleteFinally Fruitcup! I'm starving and it'll go great with my Frosted Floaties.
:D
Nice to know the Russians have more input into the U.S. world view than the current hapless Republican leadership. IMO
ReplyDeleteZZ,
ReplyDeleteThanks! Been a pretty good music morning so far. :-)
Trixie! :-)
ReplyDelete(Frosted Floaties? I probably don't want to know, right?)
So, as the last 20 years after R and the lead R has resulted in not so good an outcome......
ReplyDeletewhy not

IMO
tfk,
ReplyDeleteThe Russians have way more power than Congress overall, I think.
:-(
Good morning {gettinby}No you may NOT call me
ReplyDelete6P for short - or for long!
Miss Trixie!
ReplyDeletetfk!
Frosted Floaties and fruitcup better than my wine cooler and chocolate glazed donut.
tfk - you stated Republican "leadership." Please describe. Can't seem to locate. :)
tfk,
ReplyDeleteOH YEAH! My new political party: Throw The Bums Out!
Is that YOU?! {realwest}!
ReplyDelete6p is actually an EXCELLENT term. It's the clothes size most women would kill for.

tfk
ReplyDeleteBoyhowdy I'm glad to see ya here.

gettinby
Hiya, toots.
Life is good.
And even if it's true, can we PLEASE leave the GOP smacking around to others? We have leadership - we just don't like it!
ReplyDeleteJust saw a poll of Fox that showed Huckabee with 28%, and Palin, Romney and a bunch of folks called "Hey You" each got 12% of the polling done at some Evangelical Christian gathering.
The slow unraveling keeps apace: Italy minister says elites, left preparing ‘coup’
ReplyDelete---The ‘elites’ aimed to replace Berlusconi with a government made up of unelected technical experts whose real task would be to defend their own wealth and power, said Brunetta, whose drive to improve public sector efficiency have made him one of Berlusconi’s most high profile and popular ministers.’
Leaders of the opposition Democratic Party dismissed Brunetta’s comments as ‘vulgar,’ ‘populist’ and ‘delirious’.---
hmmmm....
Hi tfk, gettinby, Miss Trixie, Zigzagging. Just lurking here and getting up the energy to get moving. Have to go walk a dog before I go slay dragons. ;)
ReplyDelete/I LOVE my weekends now. so much to be done.
brb...the phone, the door, and the dog...all at the same time!
ReplyDeleteWell hello to you too PaladinPhil - no, I'm not upset that you left realwest off your list.
ReplyDeleteNot even a little bit!
Good morning to you!
Ooops, sorry real. I thought I got you earlier up thread. When you brought the bagels and biayls in. :)
ReplyDeleteWell I'm getting yelled at so off we go. I'll be back later.
ReplyDelete{{realwest}} Be good ... :D *smooch*
Our dogs have been brushed and vacuumed. Such a dog-day for many, which is good!
ReplyDeleteI'm not bashing the GOP, just askin' for leadership. My preference is...hmmm(I'll get back to you). ;)
Miss Trixie - Wow! We'll be there for dinner. Time? Actually, Mr. GBy is doing chicken piccata. Yum.
Good morning PaladinPhil!
Hey Enuff - good morning to you! I'll betcha OUR Elites are worse than their elites any day of the week!
ReplyDeleteWe got your Kerry, Pelosi,Edwards and a bunch of other zillionaires (ok, SLGHT exaggeration)
all of whom purport to speak for the "litle people" and the poor and downtrodden.
Realwest! At long last we meet again!
ReplyDeleteHow are you, my friend?
Is there still some fruit cup left?
ReplyDeleteHi Callahan23 - Good morn, ah, afternoon?! to you!! It is indeed good to see you again my friend.
ReplyDeleteI'm doing ok, I guess - how's about yourownself? (or if you speak proper English) how's about yourself?
[GAD, I'd kill for a Spellcheck on this blogsptot!]
Yep, there's still some fruitcup left, though not much and there's still a few bagels and bialy's left as well!
ReplyDeleteUm, you know those whacky letters y'all gotta type in to get your comment posted?
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one to whom they seem to actually sorta make sense - you know, look like real words?!?
Time for me to git. See you all later and enjoy the rest of your day. I know I will.
ReplyDeleteI am good thanks. Life sucks on many ends. But I am doing good and am stable.
ReplyDeleteLong time friends turn out to be only fair weather friends and such crap.
I guess I need some vacation, which I am gonna take from the 3rd through to the 18th of October. Yay, not much in the way of a vacation but at least I'll not be working and probably a few days out of town (something like a week).
I really am looking forward to it.
Yum, fruit cup my kind of convenience food.
ReplyDeletere: real
Doesn't your browser do some minimal spell-check? Both Safari and Firefox are doin' it.
And yes many of those whacky letters do make sense. In a way %-)))
Hey real...the Dem's busted the mirror years ago now we're suffering the bad luck.
ReplyDeleteRussia, China, Iran..even Yugo Hugo..look down with such disdain on the Euro's, they even act like they don't exist. Our problem, I think, is that Obama would love to join those Tyrannical-4 thinking - very naively - everything would be just hunky-dory.(NOT!) Get a load of this: U.S. missile defense plan change made Russia "less paranoid" - Obama
---"If the by-product of it is that the Russians feel a little less paranoid and are now willing to work more effectively with us to deal with threats like ballistic missiles from Iran or nuclear development in Iran, then that's a bonus," Obama told the Face the Nation show on CBS aired on Sunday.---
Obama: Justice OK to conduct interrogation review
ReplyDeletePresident Barack Obama says he has no plans to ask the Justice Department to end its criminal investigation into the harsh interrogations of suspected terrorists during the Bush administration.
/Obama is a traitorous assmunch
Hey enuff! If that's a BONUS what was the original payoff? I mean why deny folks who REALLY DO WANT TO BE OUR ALLIES AND FRIENDS if we aren't getting anything back for it? A Bonus would be nice, but I'd like to see what was in the paycheck to begin with.
ReplyDeleteOh and speaking of paychecks, latest government numbers showed that 46 out of the 50 states saw an increase in unemployment in the last quarter and especially the last MONTH.
Obama: Strongly Approve 31% Strongly Disapprove 40%.. Approval Index:-9 ... total approval 49%...
ReplyDelete/Zee ViteVing Pollster & hack...Rasmussen hehe
---"If the by-product of it is that the Russians feel a little less paranoid and are now willing to work more effectively with us to deal with threats like ballistic missiles from Iran or nuclear development in Iran, then that's a bonus," Obama told the Face the Nation show on CBS aired on Sunday.---
ReplyDeleteWhat a naive fool.
ReplyDeleteBut what really, REALLY counts is the 2010 congressional elections.
Just got rid of my husband for the rest of the day and now my daughter wants my "attention" (translation, "wallet").
ReplyDelete/verybigsigh
I'll be back later, folks, meanwhile...
If you haven't already seen it, don't miss this!
"World leaders respected Reagan.
ReplyDeleteThey do not respect this man."
Hell, World leaders were afraid of Reagan - viz. the release of the Hostages when Reagan was elected.
As a political leader, I'd sure as hell rather be respected or feared than "loved" - and to hell with the damn unicorns.
real - we've changed our whole defensive posture with that gawd-damned stupid move.
ReplyDeleteYou watch Putin & Co. capitalize this move and go for a dilution of Nato with the US playing some increasingly diminutive role with defense becoming more 'Eurocentric'. Putin & the Mullah's have been working to exploit this fissure for the last 8 years - Obama just gave it away.
Not so safe for work maybe...but funny
ReplyDeleteRoller Coaster Slip-A-Nip
Hey littleoldlady - go ahead and take care of whatever it is needs taking care of!
ReplyDeleteI'll cover for you as best I can!
And I LOVE that flow chart!
Enuff - yeah, and I wonder just how much our European allies will LOVE THE US AGAIN once they figure out that in terms of military defense, they're pretty much on their own.
ReplyDeleteLet's see how well their socialist systems work when they have to provide their own military defense.
And, btw, I don't think Obama was stupid with this manouver - I think he damn well knew what he was doing (see, e.g., the World Apology Tours).
and to hell with the damn unicorns.
ReplyDeleteHaven't seen much unclenching, but an awful lot of giving away shit we have no reason to.
O is Carter-approved.
Sickening.
SOS - yeppers, the Obama has Carter's approval.
ReplyDeleteWell except in public when Carter (I always leave my brain at home so it doesn't get tired from working too hard) trotted out that RACIST line - Axelrod, uh, Obama was right there to reject that litle trial balloon Carter tried to float.
Apparently,CNN has an interview braodcast today with Medvedev claiming that Peres told him Israel won't attack Iran.
ReplyDeleteAlso saying that no action against Iran except as last resort (spit).
I'll try and dig it up.
real - he knew damned well what he was doing...and that is, as they say, teh problem.
ReplyDeleteObama was right there to reject that litle trial balloon Carter tried to float.
ReplyDeleteLOL, yeah, he never knew Jimmah was gonna say that....
OK, here it is
ReplyDeleteRussian President: Peres told me Israel won't attack Iran
This little gem also :
Asked about the possible delivery of advanced S-300 anti-aircraft missiles, Medvedev said Russia had the right to sell defensive weapons to Iran. He said sanctions are often ineffective and no action should be taken against Iran, except as a last resort.
Speaking of the Poles and Czechs. Here is a self translated headline from the Polish tabloid "Fakt" which I of course read in a translated from in German.
ReplyDelete"What were we naive! BETRAYAL! The U.S. has sold us out to Russia and pushed the dagger in our backs."
And here is a Google translated article in the German newspaper (respected)'Die Welt '.
Woot..Woot: Ahmadinejad in Qods Day Address: Qods Day Path for Honor, Freedom, and Dignity for All Nations; Ayatollah Khatami in Qods Day Sermon: Obama's Plan Worse Than All Other Palestinian Peace Plans, Key to Palestinian Problem is Islamic Republic System
ReplyDeleteWe're moving right-along now. About time to put the pedal-to-the-very heavy metal.
Well y'all I REALLY hate to say this (no, actually I don't) but I really don't think Medved (Putin) ought to be setting the table for the United States foreign policy, ya know?
ReplyDeleteThe real problem is that the Left (and Obama) think in terms of One World, not nation states, and since they are oblivious to the fact that NO ONE ELSE AGREES with them (other than other cynical politicial types, college students, idealists and the young) we are in a really tough situation.
Obama Says Insurance Coverage Mandate Isn’t Tax Hike
ReplyDelete“For us to say that you’ve got to take a responsibility to get health insurance is absolutely not a tax increase,” Obama said in an interview on ABC’s “This Week” program. “Right now everybody in America, just about, has to get auto insurance. Nobody considers that a tax increase.”
Driving is a PRIVILEGE, you dingleberry.
Hey Callahan23 - isn't a lot of that just intra nation politicing? I mean it seems to me that the same folks who are saying that were opposed to the missile plan in the first place and are now looking to make political capital at home to win votes.
ReplyDeleteMorning, callahan !
ReplyDelete"What were we naive! BETRAYAL! The U.S. has sold us out to Russia and pushed the dagger in our backs."
Check this out.
Obama’s Missile About-Face Sparks Security Concern in Lithuania
Lithuania, the largest of the three Baltic states that broke free from the Soviet Union and joined NATO after the Cold War, viewed the missile shield as a symbol of U.S. resolve, Kubilius said.
Effing Obama has me hot this morning.
Feckless fool.
Real, the Czechs and Poles are a totally different crop compared to the western Europeans.
ReplyDeleteThey very recently came out of totalitarianism and most do remember that.
They are the most freedom loving folks in the EU and regularly confront the old Europe with their desire for more freedom.
They have every darn right to feel betrayed by BH Obama.
Sorry I needed to rant as I am myself fed up with this 'olde Europe' way of thinking.

Morning from the east coast CCers.
Hey Sasquatch - don't let 'em get you too hot.
ReplyDeleteI hate to be this COLD AND CALCULATING, but where else are they gonna turn?
I HATE what Obama is doing to us here at home and genuinely fear what he is in the process of doing in OUR NAME abroad, but in reality, where else is Czech or Poland or Lithuania gonna go to for help?
They sure as hell will never voluntarily go to Russia.
I'm back. What a beeeYOOOOOtiful day. I've all the doors and windows wide open, tuckered out Lil Miss is snoring on the Commie Sofa with a full belly and football's next while I finish making lasagna.
ReplyDeleteI wish days like this would go on forever ...
Good morning DEZ! This is realwest -never mind the stupid numbers TypePad has stuck me with - as I said waaaaay above thread, they've given me a number and taken away my name!
ReplyDeleteHow are you this morni.....afternoon?!
Sasquatch,
ReplyDeleteEffing Obama has me hot this morning.
Feckless fool.
You took the words right out of my mouth.
Dog's No. 1 greeting for evil Libyan strongman Moammar Khadafy
ReplyDeleteA politically incorrect pooch delivered a stream of consciousness protest Saturday as Libyan officials rolled out the red carpet for dictator Moammar Khadafy.
/wee wee for Khadafy!
and last I looked, if you dont have car insurance, the I.R.S. doesn't fine you for it.
ReplyDeleteYet. Who the hell knows what they'll reach for next.
Morning, DEZ.
Mr. RealWest, damned good to hear from you.
ReplyDeleteWe can work on your nic. to fix it some time if you like.

Morning, DEZ.
Maybe fines for unhealthy activity, who knows.
But I have seen to many small towns count on fines as revenue, through speed traps etc.
Obama can call it a fine all he wants, but he knows full well its revenue.
Hey Sasquatch - don't let 'em get you too hot.
ReplyDeleteFootball is on shortly, a nice cold Michelob Ultra will help cool me down.

Exactly.
Hey y'all - things do seem to be heating up some here, and just to be on the safe side, I'm repeating something littleoldlady said earlier (quoting Running Bare):
ReplyDeleteI'd like to take a moment to say "Thank you" to everyone who came along and posted that certain things are not what C2 is about. I appreciate that, and I'm glad that this thread did not degenerate into bashing of other blogs, etc...
Moving forward, in the event a comment violates the posting agreement (displayed above the Post a Comment field) the post will be removed. It is nothing personal, so please don't be offended in the event that this occurs.
All members of the moderating staff have been directed by me to remove all posts related to the current blog wars.
The majority of the people we've invited to join us have agreed with our vision in this regard.
So, once again, I ask that each of you adhere to our posting policies. We have very few actual hard and fast rules here, but we are determined to set the tone of this blog, and we will do what is necessary to keep it on track.
It isn't personal - but we expect your cooperation. Thanks.

No danger of that on my end, real.
ReplyDeleteAlways looking forward.
OK, gonna go watch some pigskin.
Later, C2.
Hey DEZ - thanks for the kind offer of fixing up my name/number TypePad, but we will hopefully be moving to our permanent home soon, and so I don't think it's worth the time and effort to fix TypePad now.
ReplyDeleteBut thank you anyway!
Someone eated my fruit cup didn't they?
ReplyDeleteMy tummy is empty, may as well warm up the roast before Obama fines it. ;)
Any time I can help RealWest.
ReplyDeleteWell DEZ there are still a couple of bagles and bialy's left if your tummy is rumbling, feel free to help yourself!
ReplyDeleteHey y'all - new thread is up - NFL Week Two and OPEN thread upstairs!

ReplyDeleteI see the new 'Blackwater' for the left is now Inter-Risk, a private security firm in Pakistan.
