Good morning, afternoon, evening, *everyone*!™

  1. Outrage As Feds Curb Shoe Bomber Prison Rules

Airplane shoe bomber Richard C. Reid no longer faces severe limits on his prison activities or communications after the Obama administration quietly ended years of hard-nosed curbs against the British-born al-Qaeda terrorist.

This summer the Justice Department halted six years of measures that kept Reid from associating or praying with fellow jailed Muslim terrorists, and limited his access to the news media and pen pals.

That move has outraged victims of al-Qaeda and security experts. The recommendation to lift the restrictions was made with input from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Boston, which prosecuted Reid in 2002, federal officials said.

/is there anything Obama and his pals do that's actually in America's interest?

  2. Why, why, why are they doing things like this? I just don't understand it. What message does it send?

  4. Brezinski Calls for Obama to Shoot Down Israeli Jets; "A Liberty in Reverse"

In a little noticed interview with the Daily Beast Zbigniew Brzezinski suggests that Barack Obama do more than just refuse to support an Israeli strike on Iran's nuclear sites -- the American president must give the order to shoot down Israeli aircraft as they cross Iraqi airspace:

DB: How aggressive can Obama be in insisting to the Israelis that a military strike might be in America’s worst interest?

Brzezinski: We are not exactly impotent little babies. They have to fly over our airspace in Iraq. Are we just going to sit there and watch?

DB: What if they fly over anyway?

Brzezinski: Well, we have to be serious about denying them that right. That means a denial where you aren’t just saying it. If they fly over, you go up and confront them. They have the choice of turning back or not. No one wishes for this but it could be a Liberty in reverse.

  7. He was wonderful! A few years back I heard him sounding not so good, and I thought, "Oh man, I hope he's not losing it."

He's not. He sounds like he did when he was a young man. He did everything in the same key he always did (sometimes as singers age and years of abuse take their toll, they lower keys), hit all the high notes, everything perfectly in tune (with the exception of one of the male background singers who rode the high side of the pitch, but only when he riffed on an outchorus) - he was really great. Really, really great.

Mr. Bare bought me two t-shirts! MY BFF!!!

How was your holiday weekend, lol?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Repost from last night:

Brzezinski should grow like a potato, with his head in the ground.

    ReplyDelete
  9. One of those T-shirts is for me, right? ;-)

I sure know what you mean about singers getting old and lowering their keys. :-(

I'm glad he was wonderful! :-)

*In theory* I'm still celebrating the holiday until tonight (Sunday). Guess I went over to the Reform camp this year. ;-)

(Gee, I just heard on the radio that Cindy Sheehan is protesting at GWB's ranch. GO HOME, LADY. Sheesh!)

    ReplyDelete
  11. I think I'm still hung over from last night...

Is there any news? I mean, other than Obama meeting with Netanyahu and Abbas, and the upcoming G-20?

/2 blood pressure spikes for the price of one!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Golly, somebody should tell Cindy that GWB isn't President anymore.

/either that or she's been angling for a dinner invitation all these years.
//I hear George does a mean BBQ...

  13. I haven't heard much today. That's the news cycle, I guess.

But I'd better get to sleep or there's no way I'll be up for the early games in the morning. (There will be a thread up at 9:30AM PST/12:30 EST...NFL Week Two. Do you like football, or will you be shopping? ; )

  16. Just one little word change in the headline and...ALL BETTER!

Barack Obama will meet Tuesday in New York with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas ... The announcement changed the Mideast headline from “stalemate” to “breakthrough” as the Obama administration enters a week in which foreign policy takes center stage, with the president appearing at both the opening of the United Nations General Assembly and the G20 economic meetings in Pittsburgh ... But all parties say it's unlikely the Tuesday meeting will be accompanied by a long-sought announcement on the resumption of peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians. That requires still more negotiations.

If you go by the MSM, Obama is the most successful President in the history of the universe!

    ReplyDelete
  17. ATTENTION ALL YOU RACISTS!

...you're not in the clear yet.

President Barack Obama on Friday acknowledged that some Americans don’t like him because of the color of his skin — but argued that the vast majority of his political opponents simply disagree with him on the merits of the issues.

He offered that same answer – virtually word for word — to questions about race posed by some of the five Sunday show anchors he sat down with Friday at the White House.

  19. What's worse? "Whining" or "Vengeful"

Obama, in Media Blitz, Snubs 'Whining' Fox

The idea of punishing Fox for not airing the president's speech didn't sit well with Chris Wallace, the anchor of Fox News Sunday.

"They are the biggest bunch of crybabies I have dealt with in my 30 years in Washington," Wallace said on the Fox News program "The O'Reilly Factor."

Crybabies! Yeah, that's the ticket! LOL.

  20. The irrelevancy of the MSM...we peons in the trenches get a clue WAY before you folks. Does that tell you anything?

Obama's Worldwide Star Power Finds Limits

As he takes the stage to address the United Nations for the first time Wednesday, Obama will face world leaders -- adversaries and allies alike -- whose rebukes of the new American president serve as reminders that the world's differences with the United States transcend who is in the White House.

  25. Good morning littleoldlady. Slightly hungover today. Got too much into the whole pirate role yesterday and the rum didn't help.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yeah, I know. Those two cokes really messed me up, too! ;-)

But it was fun. I was afraid we were going to miss it because we were closed so much of the day yesterday. Too bad it's only once a year...

  30. Yeah, I have been listening to those selections too. You can find turntables out there. The bad news is that they are really expensive now. The good news is that they are high quality.

  38. Well, good morning.
    It's been an interesting week.

Poland and the CR are feeling abandoned, with Eastern Europe questioning if the US will honor any commitments previously made....

Obama seems to think the Russians will help with sanctions over Iran with this BMD withdrawal, while Medvedev stated that BMD withdrawal was the payback for the Russians allowing supply routes to Afghanistan.

On the announcement of BMD withdrawal, Russia agreed to suspend its plan to station Iskander short range missiles in Kalinigrad. The interesting thing is, those missiles don't have enough range to reach any of the (former) BMD sites. Which means O will call this a win.

The Russians have now openly threatened the Georgian Navy (what's left of it).

Sanctions against Iran is looking weaker, what with the Russians not thinking BMD was enough, and pissing China off late last week over 35% tariffs on Chinese tires.

Other than that, it's all good.

    /Sorry for the rant.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Hey Sasquatch - y'all go ahead and rant - as Bare said above and as we kinda kicked around
some last night, the idea, pushed by Zibignew Brezisnsky (and no I don't know and he's too insignificant a pos for me to look up the correct spelling) one of President Obama's Foreign Policy and National Security "experts" suggested that the United States should shoot down any Israeli aircraft that fly over Iraq on their way to bomb the nuclear facilities in Iran.
Y'all remember good ole Ziby, doncha? He's the guy who helped then President Carter allow Ayatollah Kohmeni take over Iran, Iran take over our embassy, hold 54 American civilians hostage for 444 days and had President Carter IMMEDIATLEY take "off the table" the use of Military Force to obtain the release of our citizens ? Then orchestrated that farce of a rescue attempt in the desert (through no fault of the brave US troops involved) when Carter started plummeting in the polls against Reagan.
In fact, can anyone, ANYONE tell the class ANYTHING GOOD that Ziby did in the foreign policy/US security fields when Carter was President? Anyone?

Just saw a poll of Fox that showed Huckabee with 28%, and Palin, Romney and a bunch of folks called "Hey You" each got 12% of the polling done at some Evangelical Christian gathering.

We got your Kerry, Pelosi,Edwards and a bunch of other zillionaires (ok, SLGHT exaggeration)
all of whom purport to speak for the "litle people" and the poor and downtrodden. I honestly don't know how they can look in a mirror at all anymore, they are the worst of the Elites because they take OUR MONEY and give it (after it passes through several beauarcratic hands, of course) to the poor and downtrodden in THEIR names. Our elites just love to play with OPM and pretend it's theirs.

Russia, China, Iran..even Yugo Hugo..look down with such disdain on the Euro's, they even act like they don't exist. Our problem, I think, is that Obama would love to join those Tyrannical-4 thinking - very naively - everything would be just hunky-dory.(NOT!) Get a load of this: U.S. missile defense plan change made Russia "less paranoid" - Obama

---"If the by-product of it is that the Russians feel a little less paranoid and are now willing to work more effectively with us to deal with threats like ballistic missiles from Iran or nuclear development in Iran, then that's a bonus," Obama told the Face the Nation show on CBS aired on Sunday.---

  130. Obama: Justice OK to conduct interrogation review

President Barack Obama says he has no plans to ask the Justice Department to end its criminal investigation into the harsh interrogations of suspected terrorists during the Bush administration.

Seven former CIA directors have asked the president to do just that. In a letter to Obama on Friday, they warned that the probe could discourage CIA officers from doing the kind of aggressive intelligence work needed to fight terrorism.

Obama tells CBS' "Face the Nation" that he appreciates that the former CIA chiefs are wanting "to look after an institution that they helped to build."

Obama says he wants to make sure that he's not somehow overruling the decisions of prosecutors such as Attorney General Eric Holder who are there to uphold the law.

    /Obama is a traitorous assmunch

    ReplyDelete
  131. Hey enuff! If that's a BONUS what was the original payoff? I mean why deny folks who REALLY DO WANT TO BE OUR ALLIES AND FRIENDS if we aren't getting anything back for it? A Bonus would be nice, but I'd like to see what was in the paycheck to begin with.

Oh and speaking of paychecks, latest government numbers showed that 46 out of the 50 states saw an increase in unemployment in the last quarter and especially the last MONTH.

What a naive fool. If he did NOT get anything from them to start with, which I highly doubt anything they say they'd do would actually happen, then he's not just a fool, he's a dangerous fool.

They do not respect this man.

  134. sho Enuff! LOL! I posted the Rasmussen poll about 50 or so comments up above.
But what really, REALLY counts is the 2010 congressional elections. The Gop needs to take enough Senate seats (and hold on to it's own) to take that damned 51 vote "Nuclear Option" away from the Dems. How in the HELL did Al FRANKEN - AL FRANKEN!! - get elected to the US Senate? And no it wasn't all trickery, fraud and ACORN - shoulda been enough voters up there to not have made it even close; Coleman deserved to win re-election.

  137. real - we've changed our whole defensive posture with that gawd-damned stupid move.

You watch Putin & Co. capitalize this move and go for a dilution of Nato with the US playing some increasingly diminutive role with defense becoming more 'Eurocentric'. Putin & the Mullah's have been working to exploit this fissure for the last 8 years - Obama just gave it away.

A politically incorrect pooch delivered a stream of consciousness protest Saturday as Libyan officials rolled out the red carpet for dictator Moammar Khadafy.

Maggie the dog was out for a walk when she responded to the pomp by taking a pee on the lush rug outside the Libyan Mission - a gesture appreciated by many New Yorkers with little use for the notorious colonel.

"The dog had excellent taste," said Mark Birnbaum, 57, a Mission neighbor who watched the whole thing. "She's a sweetheart."

Aggravated Libyan officials were forced to cut away a section of the carpet that stretched across the E. 48th St. sidewalk from the curbs to the steps.

I see the new 'Blackwater' for the left is now Inter-Risk, a private security firm in Pakistan.

The left will have their little hissy fit without having any understanding on why that company was raided.

Private security contractors in Pakistan are licensed in the same way the mafia would license businesses if they had the power of the government. Each firearm is supposed to be registered so what happens is the firms register (for a hefty fee) a couple of old firearms and hide the rest.

Every freaking person and his cousin is armed in Pakistan. They have open air weapons bazaars. The weapons registration is limited to private companies and is nothing more than their own form of legalized extortion.

This firm was raided so the Paki government wouldn't look nearly as impotent when it comes to Americans and the future embassy expansion. I hate to say it but I wouldn't be completely shocked to find out this particular company was handed over to the Pakistani police.
