Liberty Pub Thread #3

I'm trying out a suggestion by Erik The Red, and moving the history thread to 5 AM PT/8 AM ET, after fruitcup. To fill this gap, here's another Liberty Pub thread to continue on!

  1. Erik The Read? Hell I will take the hat tip anyway it comes. :))) Thanks Pi Guy. I hope this works.

I have no idea what that means except my kids used to say it when they were little.

  8. mr hightechredneck is taking a nice soak in a hot tub sipping on Tito's vodka and Sprite Zero. And I'm waiting on him. Well, he works hard so he's earned it.

Of course the history thread will be on the new site - it will be a forum, not a post, though.

...or were you asking if you could get the name "Erik the Read" on the new site?
    ;)

  14. PG I was referring to the edit feature. I am looking so forward to the new place, with forums. And the RSS feed.

  17. redstate, does vodka go well with Sprite Zero? I've got a bottle of Stoli gathering dust because I never know what to mix it with. (Not tonight though; mojitos + beer = bedtime for doppelganglander.)

  18. I am thinking of changing my nic to "UmLungu Impi" for the new site. What does everyone think?

Ice cold vodka. Straight up, on the rocks. You can even hide it in a water bottle.

  27. redstate, I will definitely try that one next time.

And I seriously do have to call it a night. Even lazy, self-employed slobs have to get up and do some work sometime. Take care, mah peeps!

JENNIFER RUBIN: Not Sufficient to Let Holder Investigate Holder.

When we last left the saga of the Obama administration’s dismissal of the default judgment in the New Black Panther voter-intimidation case, the Justice Department had finally consented to an internal investigation by the Office of Professional Responsibility while the independent U.S. Civil Rights Commission had decided to embark on a comprehensive study and produce a report on the decision and its implications for voting-rights policy. Attorney General Eric Holder to date has stiffed the commission—first ignoring its inquiries and then citing the OPR investigation as reason not to cooperate.

Rep. Frank Wolf, who was instrumental in raising the profile of the case and in demanding an explanation for the dismissal, isn’t satisfied. A spokesman in his office, Dan Scandling, explained to me that Wolf continues to press forward for a congressional hearing to get to the bottom of the issue.

    Seems fair to me.

You have got to try Tito's vodka. Made in Austin, TX and is better than Ketel One, which used to be my vodka of choice...and no pricey import tax. Buy American! ! !

  31. 'Night, Dopp. I kicked off the new scrabble game but it can wait 'til tomorrow. I certainly don't need to be playing more tonight!

Can you imagine if the Olympics comes to Chicago in 2016?

Come to think of it, the whole world is waiting to see whether the Olympics committee chooses Chicago. If not, they're obviously racists!

  51. Good evening.

the markets were down fractionally on a blah kind of day. Here some good news (sort of) though from Marketwatch:

Home prices rise for third straight month, Case-Shiller says

"The market value of U.S. homes in 20 major cities rose by 1.6% in July compared with June, the third monthly increase in a row, according to the Case-Shiller home price index released Tuesday by Standard & Poor's.

In July, prices rose in 18 of 20 cities. Only Seattle and Las Vegas recorded lower prices in July than in June.

In the past year, prices are down 13.3% in the 20 cities. Prices are down 32.6% from the peak, and are now at levels seen in late 2003."

We still got a long way to go but at least there are some hints of improvement.

  52. Goodevening 3 wood! Nice seeing you here this late in the evening! May I get you something to drink?

    ReplyDelete
  53. Hey 3wood don't tell the people that down here in Florida. I am still trying to buy my house.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Bar Wench

I am just praying that any of the other cities win.

When we see the list of what The One is ignoring, like the General in Afghanistan, the economy, Obamacare, etc., and realize that he, who is not a native of Chicago, shows us what his priorities are...and the cost of the 2 Air Force Ones, the fuel, hotels, food, and his czars, hangers on, and others who are just going along for the ride?

He is abusing his office, and even more? He is using our tax $$$$$$$'s to try and make our country a bastion of socialism.

In my 71 years on this planet, he is, after only 9 months in office (it feels much longer)proven to be the worst president in my life, and seems to be going even deeper into an endless pit.

I would adore seeing my dream come true: The One's impeachment, along with 'Plugs' Biden, Nancy Pelousy™, and Harry Reid.

    I can dream, can't ?

  63. What's the word on the markets, 3 Wood? Time to buy? sell? hold? get out the mattress?

    ReplyDelete
  64. I had a good day, Nana, can't complain. ;-) Aaargh, just had to reboot my computer though.

  69. "What's the word on the markets, 3 Wood? Time to buy? sell? hold? get out the mattress?"

I think we are going to see a pull back in the next month cause of no GDP growth and increasing unemployment.

Are you old enough to remember the 70's with Carter? This is the most anti-business administration I have seen since Carter, I think we wills ee double digit inflation and double digit unemployment.

Put you money in something stable that will rise with inflation.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I am no economist, but will all this spending, printing of money, massive debt and very little business stimulus, I think you are very correct. We are screwed...

    ReplyDelete

I put all my money into Obama Commemorative Plates. I think the time to sell has past... Oh well, there's always my Jimmah Carter Peanut Farm in a box investment I'm still holding onto since 1979.

  75. "I am no economist, but will all this spending, printing of money, massive debt and very little business stimulus, I think you are very correct. We are screwed..."

It's a bit worse than most people realize, I think. Because of the massive debt we have to issue, the interest rates are going to have to jump and stay high for a long dang time. That will cause "crowding out" of private investment, and productivity growth will slow to a crawl. Again, it's the Carter experience all over again.

Plus, I never thought I would see the day when the French leader is stronger on foreign policy than the US President.

When the French leader talks about how you cannot live in a virtual world (referring to the Messiah)) Obama is quickly becoming a laughing stock.

I am going to have to reboot, also, but because of a check I do every night, that I nearly always have to reboot for. Ugh!

    JCM

He will, without a doubt, destroy Jimmy the Jew hater's pride of place, but The One is out to destroy Israel.

Now I am actually going to do the check ups on my computer, and go to sleep!

    G'nite,all! Sweet dreams.
