PJM: Obama Administration Stonewalls U.S. Civil Rights Commission on Black Panther Case

Remember this?

Pajamas Media has the continuing story. Jennifer Rubin writes:

Last month, the Obama administration’s decision to dismiss a default judgment against the New Black Panther Party in a clear case of voter intimidation (caught on videotape and circulated on the internet) drew scrutiny from Congress and from the U.S. Civil Rights Commission. That scrutiny has now resulted in one announced investigation by the Justice Department’s Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) and set the stage for a battle between the administration and the Commission.

So as much as I'd like to be on with you all especially about this topic, I can't.

    [snip]
Some people just can’t believe a black man is president and will never accept it.
    [snip]
It may be President Obama’s very air of elegance and erudition that raises hackles in some. “My father used to say to me, ‘Boy, don’t get above your raising,’ ” Fowler said. “Some people are prejudiced anyway, and then they look at his education and mannerisms and get more angry at him.”

JCM, thanks for bringing up the Dowd thing. That might have to be its own thread. Medved is talking about it right now, and it's simply despicable.

Wilson's inability to control his emotions during the speech is something people will have differing opinions on, but putting words in his mouth and thoughts in his mind is a new low, even for her.

  65. You're a racist if you don't love everything Obama.

Jorline, you nailed it - that seems to be the template the left is trying to impose. Furthermore, I don't think reasonable Americans of any color will accept the idea that you can only believe someone is a liar if they're white.

They always overplay their hand, by pushing absurd notions like this.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Correspondence Committee

Wilson broke with the decorum of our House Chamber, which he apologized for.

The core issue is Wilson was speaking the truth.
The Obama / Reid / Pelosi triumvirate isn't as upset with the break in decorum as with being called out publicly like that with the truth.

  68. They always overplay their hand, by pushing absurd notions like this.

And when the inevitable backlash against it occurs, will they look at what they've done, and see the error in it? Nope. They will look at the backlash, and comfort themselves by using it to reinforce and validate their beliefs, by thinking that the backlash is because we are all racists, rather than confront the truth we disagree with them.

It has to be a mental illness. It just has to be.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Yet so many center,center-left and even some center-right buy into this crap.

  71. ACORN caught red handed again...

Third Videotape Reveals ACORN Assisting 'Pimp,' 'Prostitute' in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Days after the release of hidden-camera videos led to the firing of four ACORN workers in Baltimore and Washington who assisted an independent filmmaker posing as a pimp to apply for an illegal housing loan for a brothel, a third video has surfaced showing ACORN workers offering the same kind of assistance at the organization's office in Brooklyn, N.Y.

  72. Marching orders must be obeyed, C2. The Wilson was a gift to her, she couldn't have scripted this better.

Pinkie, you and I have talked about this before...she simply couldn't stop at writing about what Wilson actually did. She had to fictionalize it, so it would fit the theme she wanted to push.

Obama writes in his book about wanting to somehow smother his own white half, and the left erupts when someone concludes he has issues with race. This guy calls someone a liar, and he's an instant racist. He must be drummed out of office and forced to grovel, issuing multiple apologies.

The double standard is breathtaking. Is there any doubt the media is going through Wilson's trash cans right now?

Exactly, JCM. So, there's only one thing to do: ruin the guy.

What I find interesting is that he had finally heard enough and the words simply forced themselves out of his body. I really think the outburst was that spontaneous.

Medved had a good point. He said that during the days following Kennedy's death, someone remarked that no man wants to be remembered for his worst moment.

They'll hammer this guy for a split-second emotional outburst, but they'll elevate Kennedy and Byrd to positions of respect and give them neat nicknames.

    Double. Standard.

  89. re: CC I hate racism. I'd be the first in line to defend someone who was being attacked based on their race.

I consider myself pretty colorblind, which is why I get along with most anyone in situations as talking, teaching or working with any race, color, religion or nationality.
I have been working in Ethiopia for two and a half years and I tell you, racism is way overboard there as compared to any western culture.
The dominant culture calls anyone darker as themselves as 'barea' which translates to a mix of black and slave.
Whites are called 'ferench' which is rather used as a slur. Asians are being called 'monkeys'.
Each and everyone will be judged immediately by the color of their skin and then called out with racial slurs if she/he doesn't match their own 'color-scheme'.

  126. I believe ACORN may have just gotten taken down in the Senate ... step one ...

  127. ZigzaggingThroughGhostland,

From the story I linked up thread.

Earlier videos taken at ACORN offices in Washington and Baltimore led to the firing of two employees at each office, and on Friday the U.S. Census Bureau severed ties with the group in the wake of the controversy.

ACORN's got some 'splainin' to do for sure.

About time. WA State we lost a Senate seat (Gorton / Cantwell 2000) and the Gov. (Rossi Gregoire 2004) to very slim margin in the face of significant ACORN registration fraud.

  128. JCM ... yes and I do not understand people who keep saying that "voter registration fraud" had no affect on "voting" ... please ... what was the intent? ... yeah some people were just making crap up out of the phone book but there was a real desire to affect the outcome of elections ... and it happened ... we will never know the total affect especially in states where there was a real manipulation of the registration process ... Ohio for one ...

I DO NOT get it ... during the primaries and the general this was all brought to the attention of many of us ... now ... "oh, it was just "voter registration fraud" ... nothing to see here ... f*ck that crap ... I ain't never forgetting anything that happened ...

I hope ACORN is fully investigated and not by some jerk friends of Obama ... this vote in the Senate is just for stopping funds until investigation and then there will be the House ... but if enough of us call our reps we should be able to make a difference ... who among them wants to vote for this organization now? ... I heard even Franken voted against them ...

  129. The No votes on ACORN ... who is surprised about these ...

Dick Durbin (D-IL) Roland Burris (D-IL) Robert Casey (D-PA) Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) Patrick Leahy (D-VT) Bernie Sanders (I-VT) Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI)

  130. ZigzaggingThroughGhostland,

In WA the Sec. State Sam Reed is making progress.“Ever since we launched the statewide voter registration database back in January, 2006, we have been able to remove 160,000 invalid registrations, including a number who were signed up in more than one county, voters who had died, and convicted felons who have not had their voting rights restored,” WA has 3.6 million reg. voters, that's 4% of the registrations were illegal, no idea how many motor voter (that' a Cloward-Piven brainchild) registrations and ACORN are still in the pool.

Gorton / Cantwell the margin was 1728 votes, 0.9%.
Rossi / Gregoire the margin was 134 votes, 0.093%.

The "noise" of fraudulent registrations is much greater than the election results.

IMHO it's time to dump the current registration rolls. Have everyone re-register with proof of citizen ship and residency.

  131. JCM ... I totally agree ... I believe in the next election there will be much more scrutiny into the registration process ... maybe if we can survive Obama some good things will come of all of this ...
