The votes are in, and people want this book.

Palin's book already a best-seller before release

Among the books "Going Rogue" is outselling: Sen. Ted Kennedy's "True Compass," Mitch Albom's "Have a Little Faith" and Brown's "The Lost Symbol," his first novel since "The Da Vinci Code" and, perhaps until now, the year's most anticipated release.

  1. Georgia began war with Russia, but it was provoked, inquiry finds

The first authoritative study of the war over South Ossetia has concluded that Georgia started the conflict with Russia with an attack that was in violation of international law.

But the exhaustive 1,000 page analysis published yesterday by the EU also concluded that Russia was responsible for a long history of provocation in the region and reacted disproportionately.

"Much of the Russian military action went far beyond the reasonable limits of defence," concluded the report.

  6. Hye y'all - this is realwest I WAS gonna go to sleep but hadda answer some e-mails and had left C2 open when I saw this thread materialize!
OF COURSE "GOING ROGUE" IS A HOT SELLER - it was written by a very HOT Woman and I don't mean just her looks either.
While I confess to not being thrilled at her earlier than would otherwise appear necessary retirement as Govenor of Alaska, I think she really couldn't write this book AND be Govenor at the same time. And while she certainly has had to come out of pocket some $500,000 to defend herself against baseless charges, politically movitvated charges and charges of which she was cleared in ALL CASES, I'm happy that she will now have the financial resoures to take care of her Family (and that's not a slap at her husband) AND WILL HAVE THE FINANCIAL RESOURCES to go after those s.o.b.'s WHO BROUGHT ABOUT THE LAWSUITS AND all of which were entirely without merit. PAYBACK IS A BITCH!
But I'm mostly happy because we'll finally get Sarah Palin telling her story herself; not filtered by McCain campaign types or in the fevered imaginations of the MSM - who actually relied on that standard of journalist integrity, The National Enquirer for the facts that they could dig out of her trash.
And I may be crazy, but I don't think Sarah Palin really has any political aspirations for higher office; both "major" parties have made it clear that they aren't willing to have a Woman as POTUS damn it! QUICK -who would YOU rather see running this Nation as Potus: Sarah Palin or Barrack Obama?
I can't wait to read this cover to cover and in one sitting. The first time I read it. Thereafter I will luxuriate in attending to all of the information that I KNOW is gonna be in her book!
Have a good night y'all and I hope to see you all down the road!

  7. I'm happy to see her telling it herself, also, RW. Goodnight!

Which is no doubt why this book is such a hit.

  12. TSA to expand use of body scanners

The Transportation Security Administration plans to install 150 security machines at airport checkpoints that enable screeners to see under passengers' clothes.

The installation will vastly expand the use of the controversial body scanners, which can reveal hidden bombs and knives. But the devices have been labeled as intrusive by some lawmakers. The House of Representatives in June overwhelmingly passed a measure that would restrict their use by the TSA to passengers flagged by other types of screening, such as metal detectors. The measure is pending in the Senate.

  14. Check this out, from HotAir:

HarperCollins will print 1.5 million copies for the book’s first run, the same number that was printed for late Sen. Ted Kennedy’s memoir “True Compass.”
Kennedy’s book, published earlier this month, currently stands at number six on the Amazon list.
A publishing industry source told POLITICO that they “cannot remember a non-fiction book taking off like this in the pre-order market. It became number one only a couple of hours after nothing more than a date announcement. It is truly unprecedented.”
Much of the 400-page book is based on journals Palin kept during her vice-presidential run.

That's old, though. The Kennedy book is at number seven tonight.

  17. LOL K/B. I wish there was YouTube out of Donald Fagen's tune Security Joan (from the album Morph the Cat, which I love)...I was thinking of calling our female mods that. : )

    From memory:

"You ain't gonna find my name on a list, honey you know I ain't no terrorist - confiscate my shoes, my cell phone...you know I love, love, love you, Security Joan..."

  18. PBJ,

The purple syrup was what we had a hard time with. She's probably the only kid in the world who prefers lemon/lime/orange over grape and cherry.

  22. LoL, I might like any flavor. That is just some darn good decongestant and I can take a couple of asprins and don't worry about the Tylenol. That stuff doesn't work for me.

    ReplyDelete
  23. You know, I should see if I can locate an addy for ole Helen and invite her over. :-)

We may be the home of her only fan club!

    ReplyDelete
  24. PBJ,

Tylenol doesn't do a blessed thing for me either. Luckily, Advil does pretty much EVERYTHING.

If you have a cold (in the early stages) I recommend Zicam.

  25. I told Pink about the Zicam last night. Good stuff.

I'm absolutely POSITIVE that we are!

    [shudder!]

  27. Whomever owns "Tylenol" must have a monopoly. It seems to come with the majority of the other drugs, including prescription drugs. I don't get it.

  28. Wow! Believe it or not, I found it!

  29. Doctors love that stuff. I have no idea why.

Okay, yes I do. ;-) It has fewer side effects than ibuwhatever and aspirin. But you can't tell those guys anything! As in, "It doesn't WORK - WHY should I take it?"

    ReplyDelete
  30. Pink,

    You're starting to scare me!

/what drugs are you taking, anyway? ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  31. Drugs? Why? Do I seem like I am on drugs?

I mean really ...imagine it ...you're an older gentlewoman like Helen Thomas and you discover some young frisky dude on a very nice website has had an entire thread dedicated to you, wouldn't YOU want to know about it?

    ReplyDelete
  32. You can send her an invite to the new C2 with that information! What screen name should we give her?
