    Well, hi.
    Are you new here?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Yes, I'm new here.

And the first thing I've noticed is that as soon as I posted, all the user icons that I see turned into American Flag icons, except for those that were already on the page.

  9. Carrying on from downstairs.

I am trying to instill, in my girls, respect for people in authority. That goes for adults, teachers, policemen and many others. One of the greatest people, here in the USA, that deserve that respect is the Office of the Presidency. This has been very hard for me because I HATE what 44 is doing to the country of my birth. I hate the cop that pulls me over for transgressing the law. I hate most things that are authoritative. BUT I do respect them all. Fine line.

I hope this makes sense. The scotch is getting to me. :)))

    ReplyDelete
  10. Do I need a drink to see the icons more clearly?

  26. Oh, good! Bare just told me he thinks we need an "all night diner"...do you think that would be better, or is this cool?

  27. Pink, I can't believe he is going so hard after Fox. Don't know if it is because he is that thin-skinned or it is the only ansr they have to tanking poll numbers and lack of support.

The blinders are coming off, VT. Kinda hard not to see this slick huckster for what he (for the average Joe, anyway -- those who drank deeply of the koolaid are probably hopeless).

    ReplyDelete
  34. I did, CC. What a flipping pambi. How is he going to take on our real enemies, when he wilts at Beck and hannity?

  37. V/T, I find his inability to accept unpopularity in some circles - to the point he would be openly critical of private citizens, and attempt to control the media to this degree - more than a little disturbing.

Power in the hands of someone like that can really be a bad thing.

    ReplyDelete
  38. You are right, Pink. He spent less than an hour with his general, but more than two hours with his favorite media admirers.

  44. Violet, it worries me sick. I have a nephew and a great nephew that will be going to Afghanistan sometime within the next year.

  45. You know, if people on the right are this fired up without a real leader in sight, think of how motivated they would be if a real leader emerged. Where do we find another Reagan?

    ReplyDelete
  46. My exact problem. I have no respect for 44 but I do for the Office.

Mine are older, Erik, and neither have any respect for 0bama (at 19 and 21, they're watching closer than I ever did at that age) ....teach her about Reagan, about men you have respected in the office, highlight the contrast. Explain your own difficulty in reconciling respect for the office versus respect for the man ...let her know why ...I think that's the best you can do.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I don't blame you, PJB. He really is a pambi and he cannot make a tough decision. He is so unprepared for this job. Biden is an idiot imo, so I won't wait for him to make a difference either.

Thanks pink. I knew you would give some great insight. That is what we are trying to do. They are both still young, 10 and 12. Thank god they are going to a great Catholic school and have a very good roll model( besides their mum and dad). :)

    ReplyDelete
  50. Landshark, Obama is like carter 2.0, maybe worse. If a new Reagan should appear, i think we will be ready. Just don't know where he/she will come from.

  51. Not Halloween quite yet, but getting real scary.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Erik, Mr Tiger and I never spoke much about politics around my daughter, and yet she turned out to be a conservative kid. She cast her first vote for president last year, joined the college republicans, etc. I was a total moonbat at her age. Just set a good example, encourage self-reliance and good values. They will take their own path after that.

    ReplyDelete
  53. You're welcome, Erik. IMO, any person of good conscience would have to stand apart from 0bama and within their own convictions. It doesn't make one 'unpatriotic', it makes one a good critical thinker (which is what you ultimately want anyway). Sounds like your daughters are in good hands. :-)

  68. Landshark, it certainly seems like a colder-than-normal winter is on the way. Lots of record lows and record early snows. We had a very cool summer and maybe one or two wam days this fall.

    ReplyDelete
  69. @zigzagging: Come on, tell us how you really feel :-)

  93. Oh well I guess I am a Racist......

You May be a Racist If……….

If you are a liberal democrat and were at one point a member of the KKK (Senator Byrd), you are NOT a racist.

If you oppose government bailouts, don’t like being told what car to drive, what food to eat or are against the Fairness Doctrine, you may be a racist.

If you are a liberal democrat of color and you oppose a white conservative president, you are NOT a racist.

If you are a white conservative and you supported people like Clarence Thomas, Condoleezza Rice, Colin Powell, Linda Chavez, Alberto Gonzales, Carlos Gutierrez, Samuel Alito, Dana Parino and Elanie Chao to become Justices of the Supreme Court or high ranking government officials, you are not only a racist but you hate women.

If you are a liberal of any color and opposed those nominations, you are not only NOT racists, you are patriots.

If you are a white conservative and you oppose communists advising the president, you are a racist.

    ReplyDelete
  94. If you are against socialized medicine and you are a white conservative, you may be a racist.

  95. There's a group in Louisiana - The Pelican Institute - emerging as the go-to for all things Acorn. I check in with them once a week or so. This is the latest today (PDF warning):

    www.pelicaninstitute.org

    This part piqued my interest:

The latest in a string of more than 75 liens in the past two years was filed Oct. 1 against
the main ACORN organization. It seeks to collect $21,062 for the tax period ending Dec.
31, 2007. A lien for $514.39 was also filed in the past month against a related group,
    Wal-Mart Alliance for Reform Now.

    Searching google, I found this:

WARN, a coalition of individuals, community organizations, labor unions, neighborhood associations, immigrant alliances, civil rights groups, women’s organizations, environmental groups, and consumer groups, provides the voice for citizens to force Wal-Mart to be accountable to community standards and values. In conjunction with the Wal-Mart Workers Association (WWA), WARN is building a national organization that has the power to affect change in the business practices of Wal-Mart and its affiliated businesses. With our base in Tampa and Orlando, WARN is currently expanding to give a voice to citizens across the country who have had enough of Wal-Mart's race to the bottom.

    Their website: W*A*R*N

A visit to the site shows established offices primarily in Florida but the Pelican Institute info refers only to ACORN activity in Louisiana and shows a lien against WARN in Louisiana as an group related to (and tied in with) ACORN.
