The Liberty Pub - OPEN #2

85 comments:

  1. So i have been really trying to expose my 4 year old to different types of music. I drive him to school so it is a good time to try different stuff out. I know it is working when this morning I put on something (the Police?) and he asks if I have any Ramones in the car.

  2. So, Loflyer says I'm batting one for four.

Which is the one, I wonder?

  3. OS -- that's good.

I play stuff and then the kids will ask me to repeat something they like.

Have you tried 'hard shoe' music? This is the dance/nusic popularized in Riverdance - Celtic Tap. Kids absolutely LOVE the beat.

Just watch out for the request for a drum set.

  35. Wow. Has anyone posted about this? The White House tried to ban Fox news from interviewing the Pay Czar - and all the other news organizations told the White House to go fuck itself.

    And the WH backed down

    Keep it up, you morons

  42. Atila: Yesterday, tThe New York Times, of all papers, had an op-ed or blog, about the war on fox. It went so far as to write that the WH has brought a knife to a gun fight. Scathing. Wh did not think this one through. This should be fun to watch.

    feet . . meet fire.

  44. Obama Escalates Feud: Administration Attempts to Exclude Fox News from White House Pool

On the Oct. 22 broadcast of Fox News Channel's "Special Report," host Bret Baier revealed a White House pool announcement was offering Kenneth Feinberg, the "Special Master for Compensation," better known as the White House "pay czar" for interviews - all except for one network - Fox News.

"Today there was an announcement by the administration," Baier said. "They were putting out the pay czar, Kenneth Feinberg, as we showed you earlier for the White House pool - that Feinberg would be doing a round-robin interviews with the five-network pool that covers the White House - basically shares the costs and the daily coverage duties of covering the president. Fox News has been a member since 1997."

The press pool is comprised of the five major TV news organizations - CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox News. However, according to Baier, the other members declined to participate unless Fox News was included.

"When they put out that message, they specified that all members of the pool were welcome except Fox News," Baier said. "Well the other members of the TV pool said, ‘Well we're not going to do the interview unless Fox News is included."

/gee, if only they'd put the same amount of effort into fighting the Taliban

    ReplyDelete
  45. Atila, I think the other networks realized they would be next on the list after Fox, and they also are starting to realize that Fox is a competitor and not the enemy of free speech. (Unlike the Democrats and the Obama admin)

  46. zig - it's not crazy at all! It's the most obvious play in the playbook. What seems to be crazy to ME is that so many people now seem so surprised. Even my husband - who just could NOT believe me when I told him what Obama really is. The man has been in politics for over half his life - chief of staff for a congressman, committee stuff and now a lobbyist. He just could NOT believe it.

And now he does. I don't get it. It was all there right in front of everybody.

There is probably a psych test somewhere that can tell us something based on who our favorite Beatle was.

    John.

    Oh, ok, favorite Beatle song.

    Norweigian Wood.

    ReplyDelete
  47. First posted by my friend at another place (who I miss very much) ... still one of the great versions of an Eric song ...

Anyday ... Susan and Derek ...

    ReplyDelete
  48. What psyche test do you give to someone who does not like the Beatles?

Atilla: You are a Clapton fan?

    Oh hell, yeah!

One thing that I'll never remove from my 'bucket list' is getting to see him in concert. I DID get to see Led Zeppilin tho - Jimmy Page on the guitar in real life is beyond belief.

And I'm not even a guitar person. Could not play that instrument if my life depended on it. But I surely can hear it.

  51. Feew items:

Obama's attack on Fox is the most vulgar full throated assualt on Freedom of the Press in US history. The first amendement is OUR right to have miserable basterd reporters grill our elected officials. Bush was scorched every day by the liberal press (read one column by the very NSFW Rude Pundit to see a tenth of the hatred against him). Bush did nothing becuase he had NO RIGHT TO DO SO AND NEITHER DOES OBAMA.

This is banana republic erosion of our rights and we should not stand for it for a second. Oddly enough, the other members of the WH Press Pool recognized that one day a democrat might not be POTUS and demanded the WH back down.

Next Item- would people leave Michelle Obama alone. She is one of the least public First Ladies we have had for years and I am sick of the vicious jibes and other crap people are throwing her way. She has been utterly innocuous, why do people go off on her for absolutely no reason.

Next- death threats against Obama. We need to have ZERO tolerance for this. As far as I am concerned a threat against Obama is a threat against me. He is my President. An attack against him is an attack against us all.

If you have a problem with that, go post at Stormfront or some other anus convention.

I will oppose Obama's agenda with everything I have but we owe it dial down on the hate and dial up the loyal opposition. The idea that the Secret Service is concerned by the sheer volume of threats is a national disgrace. Lastly there is the problem of President Biden, a bigger idjit than Dan Quayle is a heartbeat away from global leadership. People need to calm down and think of the damage our country would suffer if anything were to happen to BHO; it would destroy our country. Can't we all agree to just bounce him in 2012?

    OK its bourbon time.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Nice to see you AG, do you have a favorite bourbon?

    "Anus Convention" LMAO

  53. Two of the greatest concerts i have seen involved Clapton.

Have you heard of the documentary "Nothing but the blues?" It was a 1990's-ish documentary by Martin Scorsese during the time he was touring after the Album from the Cradle.

The Documentary is Clapton explaining the songs, and then it shows concert footage from one of the shows. The music is nothing short of perfect. The problem is that it was shown once on PBS and never again. It was not released. i saw it in college after a friend had taped it on a whim.

In the age of the internet, with a little searching you can find copies that were released to studios, but never used,. Some of these have been put online. I assume one could download a copy of the video and use simple software to rip the music tracks out and save them as music files, etc.

Google Nothing But the blues. If you have not seen or heard it, it is worth tracking down.

  54. BBL guys, Thanks for the drinks Wench! I owe you....

Wow. thanks for that music video. I'm chillin'.

There is no psych test for people who don't like the Beatles. There are whole swaths of their work that I think sucks. But there's something for everyone.

Obama's attack on Fox is the most vulgar full throated assualt on Freedom of the Press in US history

I don't know how old you are, but Nixon was - at least so far - worse.

Biden is not the idiot many people portray him to be. He is quite happy to fill the role of The Dumb Sidekick, but let me tell you - he is not.

Look at what is going on with his son, Beau. Biden is a cut-throat politician who is delighted to see that people think he shoots blanks.

  57. Last call everyone. In about two minutes we're having an open thread upstairs and you can take your drinks up there.

    ReplyDelete
  58. AG: All valid points. But as you sit back and have a drink, keep in mind that all of the media, left right and center, are on the same page on this war on Fox. I applaud the left media for telling the WH to fuck itself if Fox was not included.

    One more thing......

As long as she STAYS innocuous, I'll leave her alone.

But I will NOT forget the woman who said - several times in one day - that 'this is the first time in my adult life I have been proud of my country'.

She can go fuck herself for all I care. If the handlers have her off the radar, fine. She pops her mouth open again, I'm taking target practice.
