This First spot is reserved for Pi Guy who has continually provided us with great photos for the Pub threads and the Chill thread and tonight is no exception!
ReplyDeleteOoops that's another great Gif. tonight, thanks Pi Guy!!
DeleteJust caught the smoke, eh?
DeleteI love the photos that take a while to determine whether they're GIFs or not.
*BLUSHES*
ReplyDeleteThanks, realwest!
Here's to good friends! Tonight is kinda special!
Always to good friends, my good friend! Why is tonight kinda special?!
DeleteUh, Pi Guy? Why is tonight kinda special? Is Pi Mom home from Pi Sis's place tonight?! Some other reason why tonight is kinda special?!
DeleteI was just stealing a slogan from an old Lowenbrau commercial.
DeleteAh, got it, OK!!
Delete:)
Thanks!
Good evening Realwest and Pi Guy. It's good to see you both! Great gif, Pi!
ReplyDeleteGood evening to you too {PBJ} - I hope you're doing well this evening!?!
DeleteGood evening, PBJ!
DeleteI'm fine, thank you. How about you?
DeleteGlad you like the GIF, PBJ!
DeleteI just wish I could drink coffee in the evening but I sure can't.
DeleteThen just enjoy the aroma for now.
Delete;)
I'm doing well PBJ, now that the thunderstorms are gone - for awhile anyway - and especially since Syria isn't my home!!
Delete:)
Glad to hear you're doing fine!!
That's good to hear, RW!
DeleteThe Week In Pictures: Memory Hole Edition
ReplyDeleteJust superb, Pi Guy, they were all really great, thanks a lot for linking them for us!!
DeleteI thought Obi Juan Kenobi was the funniest though!!
IS THAT what makes tonight so special?!
:)
DeleteLook upthread for the explanation of why "tonight is kinda special"...

ReplyDeleteVia News Breaker
That's not good.
DeleteNot at all.
DeleteEspecially not closing that supply road. I wonder if Obama's showing his yellow stripe to the Islamic world brought that attack on?!?
DeleteThat's exactly what I was thinking, RW!
DeletePBJ, check your e-mail.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind checking MY e-mail either, ya know?!?
DeleteWill do.
DeleteOK, realwest, check your e-mail!
DeleteOK, did already, now its time for you to check yours!!
DeleteHEY PI GUY - I sure hope Mr. bigbaddemocrat isn't why tonight is kinda special??!!
ReplyDeleteUmmmm....NO
DeleteMmmm....gif-ey!
ReplyDeleteGood evening Fenway!
DeleteGood Evening, Peeb! How was the Poodlepack game? Hope you at least had a good time
DeleteHowdy Fenway, good to see you tonight - and your timing is of course impeccable!!
Delete:)
We had a lot of fun. OMG, our seats couldn't have been better. They were actually in the handicap section. I was sure disappointed that the Wolfpack didn't do a little better, though.
DeleteAt least they didn't lose to a 'lesser' FCS (formerly Division I-aa) team like Connecticut, San Diego State, Iowa or Oregon State did to start out their respective seasons
DeleteWell let's see: Vietnam officially ended in 1973 or maybe 1975 so that would be 40 years ago and that would mean anyone, much less a Democrat would be likely to STILL be in office when they are probably over the age of 75 - so except for McCain (I know, but he might as well be a Democrat, that leaves only Kerry I believe!
ReplyDeleteGood evening, Chill-ees!
ReplyDeleteHowdy, Fenway!
DeleteHowdy Pi!
DeleteWTH happened to the big bad democrat?
ReplyDeleteWhoever he or she is, he or she has the power to make comments disappear out here, have ya noticed?!?
DeleteWell its late out here on the Right Coast and I've gotta get some sleep now.
ReplyDeleteI hope you all have a great evening/early morning and that I get the chance to see you later on down the road today!
Good night, all.
Sweet dreams RW!
DeleteG'nite, Real!
DeleteI'm only now learning that the Treasury has stopped issuing paper savings bonds.....it's all done electronically these days. Doesn't make that much of a difference- interest rates suck-diddly-uck these days....it's almost like we have a government run by people who want to punish those who are responsible with their money...
ReplyDeleteIndeed.
DeleteThere's utility stocks out there paying dividends comparble to the rates of CDs or savings bonds back in the golden days of 3%-4% APY CDs.
DeleteUtilities are boring as fuck-all 'coz there's no meteoric rise in the shares value like there has been with Google or Apple, but no matter how shitty the economy is, people are still gonna need electricity.
Kinda wish Killian Bundy would stop by so I could bounce a couple of ticker symbols off of him
I wish he would come by too. He still does his weekly watch list on his blog and on Facebook.
DeleteI was looking at that. Checked some of the stocks on his watchlist. Only a fraction of them pay dividends, which kinda runs counter to my 'Buy and hold' investment strategy
Delete/or maybe it's 'buy and forget'....
Sorry I wasn't here too much after you arrived, Fenway.
ReplyDeleteI had some things to do, and I was just talking with DC and Bare, updating them.
I have to head on out now.
Veni, Vidi, Velcro!
Goodnight, all!
I'm glad you let them know. Sweet dreams, Pi Guy!
DeleteG'nite, Pi!

LOL! Good evening Syrah, it's so good to see you.
DeleteThanks for the note you sent me.
DeleteI was suffering from terrible withdrawal symptoms before I guessed that things might have gone to the fallback site.
You're welcome. I'm sure there are others who haven't figured it out yet and maybe don't even know that we used to be on blogspot. I don't think anyone has been in touch with Beer Drinking Victory Monkey, for one. I think I found a twitter page for TFC3ID, so I left that up to Pi. Revo can probably contact UFO TOFU. Also, there are SoxFanForLife and Locke. I'm sure I'm forgetting others.
DeleteI tried a google search for Beerdrinkingvictorymonkey. I found something that suggested a posting at blogmocracy that was several years old.. Nothing else.
DeleteLocke is too generic of a handle to run a search for.
Soxfan and UFO may still be findable. Same for Dez.
It may take some time to collect everyone.
IIRC, someone said they e-mailed Dez. OMG, I wonder if Squatch has been notified. We have a "friends of C2" private group on Facebook, so a lot of them know that way but Squatch has stopped using Facebook. OR says he has BDVM's e-mail on Yahoo but he could not log in to his Yahoo account earlier this evening. Jamgarr knows, via the Facebook group but he was having trouble logging in here. I e-mailed Noam Sayin'.
DeleteTime for bed.
ReplyDeleteGoodnight all
Sweet dreams Syrah!
DeleteOh shoot....I missed Syrah on my commute
ReplyDeleteToo bad.
DeleteAnd now Breaking Bad is on....
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!
DeleteStatue of Deputy MacKay Unveiled in Lake Arrowhead
ReplyDeleteBuenos dÃas. On CNN Internationial, even Fareed Zakaria ( who IIRC was an Obama fanboi) witheringly described Obama's foreign policy on Syria as "inept", "a textbook case in how not to conduct foreign policy."
ReplyDeleteHey all y'all- fast hit and run here, but BigBadDemocrat was our buddy TFK - yep, he called me realwesternone (no one else does that) and he e-mailed me this morning and told me!! LOL!
ReplyDeleteAs for Soxfan4Life, after news reports of an FBO being heavily assaulted in Afghanistan, I wrote to him .................and I haven't heard anything back.
See you all later on!
*mutter mutter* finally figured out how to login to my google account on my tablet.
ReplyDeleteMorning all.
You really shouldn't talk about your mutter like that.
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting for violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter, pianist Emanuel Ax and cellist Yo Yo Ma to form the Lizzie Borden Chamber Trio: "Ax Ma Mutter".
Delete/hat tip: Emanuel Ax, actually!
I would prefer "Ax Yo Mutter" ...
Delete/but we repeat ourselves
Ex-Pak Pres. Musharraf was living in exile, but decided to return to Pakistan prior to the elections earlier this year. That was probably a mistake.
ReplyDeleteEverybody and his brother's dog are now getting the corrupt Judiciary to charge Musharraf with crimes. These are regarding things which happened while Musharraf was President, and now he's being held personally responsible for them. It's reached a point of absurdity.
In 2007, a careless Karachi truck driver ran over a cat. Next week, Musharraf will be charged with murder in THAT case too.
A few days ago, the NATO Sec'y-General said that NATO wouldn't take part in a military action against Syria.
ReplyDeleteToday he says, a firm international response is needed.
heh
Good morning again all y'all - from a cloudy, warm (going up to 91degrees) and HUMID Charlotte!
ReplyDeleteI hope all of you are doing well today.
And I gather that, once again, this Chill Thread is going to have to serve as the Morning thread, 1.10??!
Re: Syria. Obama has said that he's going to go ahead and attack Syria even if Congress doesn't vote in favor of it (don't have the link handy and it was yesterday so maybe he's changed his mind again).
Why do I get the feeling that this street corner Chicago thug, 3 card monte dealer is using Syria as yet another Shiny Penney with the Continuing Resolution and the Debt Ceiling debate coming up? And what the hell happened to his laser like focus on Jobs and the Economy, AGAIN??!
A beautiful morning here. 65° and sunny!
ReplyDeleteHi all!
U.S. Open Tennis match . . . Obama lobbed a serve to Congress. No return yet.
Good morning {gak}! Well Obama's lob was so soft that Congress is waiting -and retying its collective shoes - for it to come down.
Delete:)
I did hear Chris Van Holland (D-?) House Minority Whip, say on Fox News that he would NOT vote for the legislation that was proposes by Obama as it is too broad and open ended. AND, he said, it also fails to specify what "Vital U.S. National Interests" are at stake in Syria. When an uberliberal, UBER PARTISAN Democrat like that, asks questions like that, I think Obama is going to have a tougher time with Congress than he (or Valerie Jarrett) may have thought!
Real, Mark Steyn (I think it was him) pointed out a very interesting "tweet" that David Axelrod sent over the weekend; in which he sneered that Congress is now "like the dog that caught the car", i.e. they wanted this issue referred to Congress, they "caught" it, and now, ha, they won't know what to do with it!
DeleteIt's true that Axelrod no longer has any official position in the White House, but he represents the Obamaesque mindset as well as anyone. And THIS is how he sees this matter of life and death, this decision about whether to send our forces into harm's way or not; as a tool to be used in petty, partisan squabbling, nothing more. This is VERY telling.
'Morning O.R. - it is INDEED very telling. As I said somewhere up thread:
Delete"Why do I get the feeling that this street corner Chicago thug, 3 card monte dealer is using Syria as yet another Shiny Penney with the Continuing Resolution and the Debt Ceiling debate coming up? And what the hell happened to his laser like focus on Jobs and the Economy, AGAIN??!"
The ONLY thing that is important about Syria to this Administration is that it is a distraction from the work to be done on the CR and the Debt Ceiling. But I can't believe anyone out here thinks Obama gives a damn about Syria anyway.
Morning {real}! Obama cares about Syria. He stepped in a crap pile. His concern, "get it off me"!
DeleteAs far as I can tell, Obama's "stern" message to Assad goes something like this: I am very, very cross with you for using chemical weapons on your own people! Well, I was kind of cross the first time you did it a year ago. But now, I'm even more so. And I intend to teach you a lesson! But, well, not before later this month, when Congress gets back in session. And then, if they so "no", I may or may not attack anyway, I haven't made up my mind. Actually, even if they say "yes", I haven't made up my mind yet. And even if I do decide to launch an attack, not to worry; it'll be a purely symbolic, limited thing, really just designed to safe face for me, personally (after that "red line" oopsie... what was I supposed to do! There was no telemprompter). So, just sit tight for a few days, and ride it out.
ReplyDeleteDo I have that about right?
Wouldn't it be neat if Bashar's reply had something to do with eating a breakfast of waffles?

DeleteHey O.R. - for some reason the Reply button isn't working for me on your second post, but yes, yes you do have that about right.
ReplyDeleteWell I don't know where everyone is this morning, maybe sleeping in on the Left Coast, but I do have some chores to do today and might as well get 'em done now before the heat of the day sets in!!
ReplyDeleteHope all of you have a great day and that I get the chance to see you all later on down the road today!
