Good morning, afternoon, evening *everyone*!™

Help yourselves!

Letterman admits sex with staffers - after ridiculing Republicans like Mark Sanford in monologue.

And after making a joke about Todd Palin "sitting on his ass". And making a joke about Cheney. And of course, joking about how Obama is an unusual politician, because he goes on business trips "with his wife". That Obama...the only thing funny about him is that he's just so darn good, you see.

Big Fur Hat at I Own The World already has a cartoon up about it.

And just because I did that to you, here's a palate cleanser from the very funny Craig Ferguson, who follows Letterman - well worth watching. China, communism jokes - great stuff here:

The Official Desert Sage Late Night Helen Thomas Tribute Open Thread

The Liberty Pub - OPEN #2

Keep going, guys...and be sure to tip your lovely waitress!

The Liberty Pub - OPEN

Put your drinking caps on! We have word that at least one old, dear friend will be joining you in the bar tonight...keep your fingers crossed (unless you need to use them, then uncross them, then cross them again when you're done).

Hot Topic of the Day: It's all in your mind...again.

Student group sues Oregon State University in federal court over unfairness

Today we listened to David French, Senior Counsel of the Alliance Defense Fund, on the Michael Medved Show. OSU apparently confiscated copies of the conservative leaning paper on campus and threw them in the trash, claiming that it was necessary to beautify the campus, while extending an exemption to the "progressive" official campus newspaper. It's up for discussion whether the university exercised their power responsibly in this case - you all can debate that - but we just have to say:

There is no anti-conservative bias on American campuses. None. It's in your head. Don't act craaaaaaazy.

BONUS "ALL IN YOUR MIND" TRACK, from HotAir: Jimmy Carter claims he never said Obama protesters were racist. Seriously.

MICHAEL YON: The Greatest Afghan War - MICHAEL MOORE: Capitalism Did Nothing For Me

Yon in the Washington Times today:

We are losing popular support. Confidence in the Afghan and coalition governments is plummeting. Loss of human terrain is evident. Conditions are building for an avalanche. Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal, the military commander in Afghanistan, and Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates are aware of the rumbling, and so today we are bound by rules of engagement that appear insensible.

Moore, from CNS News (hat tip Jorline):

Documentary film director Michael Moore, who has become a millionaire thanks to the profits from his movies, told CNSNews.com that “capitalism did nothing” for him.

Daily Broadside - Thursday Morning Edition

Garrison Kiellor, in the Chicago Tribune, writes:

When an entire major party has excused itself from meaningful debate and a thoughtful U.S. senator like Orrin Hatch no longer finds it important to make sense and an up-and-comer like Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty attacks the president for giving a speech telling schoolchildren to work hard in school and get good grades, one starts to wonder if the country wouldn't be better off without them and if Republicans should be cut out of the health-care system entirely and simply provided with aspirin and hand sanitizer. Thirty-two percent of the population identifies with the GOP, and if we cut off health care to them, we could probably pay off the deficit in short order.

Absolutely, Garrison. But you'd better figure out how to pay for all those expensive government programs once you've killed us all off.
