  1. Here's how to create clickable links while we're on the blogspot site!

    1) Start with the basic link code:

    <a href=""></a>

(IMPORTANT: There MUST be a space between "a" and "href".)

    2) Paste your link between the quotes, like this:

    <a href="http://i.imgur.com/z7GoU3U.jpg"></a>

    3) Write your descriptive text between the > and <, like this:

    <a href="http://i.imgur.com/z7GoU3U.jpg">Curious bunny</a>

    4) To help set the link apart from regular text, bold it with b tags, like this:

    <b><a href="http://i.imgur.com/z7GoU3U.jpg">Curious bunny</a></b>

If done right, the result should look and act like this:

    Curious bunny

  4. Hey all y'all just finished a great na.......doing chores again, yeah, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!!!!

I don't understand something: Obama sent a letter to Boehner with proposed legislation that would give him Congressional Approval to do something in Syria (chuck Tomahawk missiles at 'em or some-such - haven't seen the legislation he's requested) and for some weird reason folks on the Left seem to think that Obama put one over on the Republican Congress.
I think he FINALLY complied with our Constitution and has asked CONGRESS (i.e. the House AND the Senate) to consent to war or to give him power to conduct "limited" war. I think THAT'S GREAT NEWS!
I also note that Congress is back in session on Sept 9th which could mean on 9/11 we kill a bunch of Syrians - don't know if we're killing good guys or bad guys and unfortunately I don't think Obama does either - but at LAST Obama is following our Constitution and that's just fine with me.

    1. Somebody finally pointed out that, no matter how US intervention goes in Syria, the US won't come out looking good.

So, he's decided to pass the buck to Congress, where he knows it will fail, and then he can blame anything that happens in Syria on the GOP.

    2. BTW, realwest, your homework today is learn how to create a clickable link, using the instructions at the top of this post!

    3. Nope, Obama isn't complying with the Constitution.

He boxed himself in with his Red Line, Everybody but the French are not with him.

He found an out.... toss the ball to Congress and they likely will not authorize use of force in Syria.

Obama can then say he wanted to take action but Congress blocked it.

He gets to blame the whole fiasco on Congress and the LIV will eat up the shit served by a lapdog media.

    4. I have to disagree JCM - Congress includes the Democratically controlled Senate. He PROBABLY should have asked Congress to act before he gave his "red line" BS, but better late than never.
And it may give Obama a way to slip his way out of a tight situation of his own making, but at LAST he IS following our Constitution - and at a time when well over 75% of the Voters DO NOT WANT us to do anything in Syria!!

    5. Congress should ask, "Well, Mr. 0bama, according to you, it's 'your military', so why do we get a vote?"
      ;)

    6. Obama isn't doing because of the Constitution, he's doing it to pass the buck.

He's doing the right thing, for the first time and this one time.

But only because it gives HIM an out.

    7. Congress (including the DEMOCRATIC PARTY CONTROLLED SENATE) should ask "why are you NOW following the Constitution? AND "Where's the EVIDENCE that it was Assad who used chemical gas?"?

You'll note, PLEASE, that Obama didn't ask Congress to come back early to deal with that proposed legislation!!

  8. State Dept Official Tells FNC James Rosen, Obama Will Take Syria Action Even If Congress Says No

A senior State Department official tells Fox News the president’s decision to take military action in Syria still stands, and will indeed be carried out, regardless of whether Congress votes next week to approve the use of such force.

The official said that every major player on the National Security Council – including the commander-in-chief – was in accord last night on the need for military action, and that the president’s decision to seek a congressional debate and vote was a surprise to most if not all of them. However, the aide insisted the request for Congress to vote did not supplant the president’s earlier decision to use force in Syria, only delayed its implementation.

    1. That would be interesting...Congress votes no, 0bama strikes anyway, and when that falls apart, any congressperson who wants to can gloat!

Also, the Republicans are given an issue to use in the 2016 campaign!

No Atlantic Hurricane by August in First Time in 11 Years

August is about to end without an Atlantic hurricane for the first time since 2002, calling into question predictions of a more active storm season than normal.

Six tropical systems have formed in the Atlantic since the season began June 1 and none of them has grown to hurricane strength with winds of at least 74 miles (120 kilometers) per hour. Accumulated cyclone energy in the Atlantic, a measure of tropical power, is about 30 percent of where it normally would be, said Phil Klotzbach, lead author of Colorado State University’s seasonal hurricane forecasts.

“At this point, I doubt that a super-active hurricane season will happen,” Klotzbach said in an e-mail yesterday.

  13. Better Safe

To give his “Infamy” speech on the day after Pearl Harbor, Franklin Roosevelt rode to the Capitol in a car owned by Al Capone.

The Secret Service was concerned about assassination attempts, and Roosevelt’s regular state car had no protective features. So the president made use of Capone’s heavily armored 1928 Cadillac 341A Town Sedan, which the Treasury Department had impounded after the gangster’s arrest.

  14. Open Carry Texas Harassed by SAPD 8/24/13

Three guys sitting outside a Starbucks with unloaded long guns.

MEN BEHIND ‘OPEN CARRY’ DEMONSTRATION IN TEXAS CHARGED WITH CRIMES EVEN THOUGH WHAT THEY DID WASN’T ILLEGAL – HERE’S HOW POLICE ARE JUSTIFYING IT

The three men behind an “open carry” demonstration conducted outside of a San Antonio Starbucks are each facing charges of “disorderly conduct” because some observers reportedly complained about the stunt.

But San Antonio police Chief William McManus told KENS-TV that gun owners can still be charged with disorderly conduct if anyone feels threatened at any point during a demonstration. In other words, if anyone around you is uncomfortable with firearms, you could technically be charged with a crime.

    ******

Oh, so somebody "feeling threatened" is a criminal offense?
