I ripped the avatar off and put it in my docs but nowhere did it ask me about an avatar so I don't know how to change it.

Next, you place your link in the quotes:

Finally, you place your text inbetween the > and the <, like this:
<a href="http://imgur.com/a/bmKpy">Here is my text!</a>
When you post it, it should look and act like this
Here is my text!
Bonus: You can bold it by using b tags, like this:
<b><a href="http://imgur.com/a/bmKpy">Here is my text!</a></b>
That should look an act like this:

I can't help with the money, but did suggest a cheap hosting provider. ($5/month up, depending on data and access) I use them for three websites.
