Always a fun night here at the Pub, AW! My favorite nights are the ones when Helen shows up ...the guys all seem so intimidated but she's always been a perfect lady to me. : )

DGLander, I am finding the history channel extremely tiresome with its liberal doomsday documentaries. As for Glob Clusters, tonight would be a good night to take the scope out. They look like a soft puffball. Nothing like the pictures you see on TV, and it's darn good to hear from you mate...
JCM: Looking for .45 carry. I live in WI, one of two states w/o concealed carry laws. Bills have gone up twice ( I think) but vetoed by Governor Doyle. Seems that opposition may be thawing, and I want to get something beforehand. I know Kimber has a great reputation, but I have never fired one and I don't know anything about their carry models.

The toasts up here in the Junior Ranks Mess was always "Queen and Country". First picture you saw on entry to the mess was the Queen. Enter door, salute, remove beret and enter. Next stop of course was the bar. :)
Thank you all, I had no idea I was missed. If I am away from my posts, fear not, it just means that I am making $, which is a good thing. The bad thing is that I usually need to make $ when I am able. :)
Find a range with a good selection of rentals, or find a gun club where people are willing to let you try things out.
I carry a S&W MP Compact .40. IMHO it's handling is better than a .45, it terminal ballistics are a match for the .45 and it's size and weight are like a 9mm.
DGL, if you look at the credits, you will see most these history channel documentaries are by young producers eager to change the world and make money doing it. I always wonder what they will do when they become really successful like Michael Moore, and have to pay 60 percent in taxes..
Thanks, Brandy! And yes, rawmuse - you were missed by a lot of people! We're really pleased with the way things are shaping up here. So many great people. Again, so glad to see you!
LoFlyer, Pinkie was probably looking to make contact with you because she will be the one issuing invites to the new C2 when it's ready to go (soon, soon...honestly - I'm here at Bare's working on it right now).
The beer. Tell me about it. It was a moment of weakness. I don't mind the lime stuff, but they only had one six pack. I had a momentary lapse of reason.
Where is the damn music? I come here to dance and there is not music. WENCH! Brink me a whiskey. No ice. No Water. STRAIGHT AND FAST. It's how I like my drink and my men.

LoFlyer - I've forgotten more politics than this entire administration knows. We finally get a Dem in office to roll back what that cretin Bush did, and this is what I get. A shiny toy.
If Sage doesn't show up soon, I'm going to take my bottle and scram. I'm just not in the mood. I still feel so slimy. I DEFENDED Fox. Gross. More gross than french kissing Rhambo.
Paladin, I actually saw those guys in concert many years ago at the GT arena (looks like a flying saucer). Funny I don't remember much about the concert though.
Helen, that's OK, we do appreciate you defending FOX, As much as you hate the Bush admin, you must admit he did respect the White house correspondents, Obama and his admin does not respect y'all unless he can use you.
Evening all. Bar Wench, sweetheart, may I have a G&T? Is Helen still here? Just for the record, I want to say that I am defintely straight and fast. Just in case Helen likes men who are.... oh the heck with it. Give me a double.
While Fox and Rush have all the headlines, Congress is meeting behind closed doors trying to figure out how to a) shove a 1500 page monstrosity down our unwilling throats while b) keeping Democrats from paying for it.
There is a direct correlation between the outcome of a political election and a man's testosterone level, researchers say in a Duke University study released Tuesday.
Young men in the study who voted for Republican John McCain or Libertarian candidate Robert Barr in the 2008 presidential election experienced an immediate drop in testosterone when the election results were announced showing McCain and Barr lost to Democrat Barack Obama. Men in the study who supported Obama had stable levels of the hormone, the study found.
/oh sure, the male Obama voters may have had stable testosterone levels, but their estrogen levels skyrocketed
I was in Toranto with my older brothers when we went into this bar called Grossman's. I was underage and in Toranto for the first time. Anyway, we go in and it is open mike night. We are there for a while and in walks Jeff Healy to sit in. So he sits down and asks if anyone out there plays drums. I did, but was drunk and underage and this was JEFF HEALY. No one comes up, so he shrugs and someone helps him to the kit. He starts playing drums for all of the other people there to jam. After a while another drummer comes in and he sits down with his guitar. What a night! I have 1 1/2 regrets in life and not sitting down to play with Jeff Healy was one of them.
Did I make it?
ReplyDeleteYES! YES I DID! STILETTOS AND ALL!

ReplyDeleteMy favorite drink ordering moment is the scene with Rick and Ugarte at the beginning of Casablanca.
ReplyDelete"I'll have another please"
Lucius, what can I get you, sweety?
ReplyDeleteHere you go, JCM!
Good evening all. I am here looking for my muse. She seems to have run off with all my words again. Brandy, just a ginger ale tonight. Should keep myself sober.

A primary defense in 1911 style I would lean toward Kimber.

ReplyDeleteLoFlyer - I've forgotten more politics than this entire administration knows. We finally get a Dem in office to roll back what that cretin Bush did, and this is what I get. A shiny toy.
ReplyDeleteWill do. Thanks for the suggestion.

ReplyDeletePaladin, I actually saw those guys in concert many years ago at the GT arena (looks like a flying saucer). Funny I don't remember much about the concert though.

Presidential Election Outcome Affected Male Voters' Testosterone Levels, Study Finds
ReplyDeleteThere is a direct correlation between the outcome of a political election and a man's testosterone level, researchers say in a Duke University study released Tuesday.

ReplyDeleteI was in Toranto with my older brothers when we went into this bar called Grossman's.
