  6. Oh Brandy, you and I have more in common than you think. One day I will sit down with you and explain the skeletons in my closet. It will make so much more sense then!

  7. Hey Brandy.

    Hey AW

    Hey EtR

Now that we've done with the pleasantries, I'll have a drink.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Bar Wench! Evening!

    Mt. Bachelor E.S.B. please!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Glad you are here, Lucius. We can carry on our pleasant conversation from downstairs. I am convinced that should what you describe happen, I may be "silenced" rather than a lesson made of me simply due to my Military connections. I think I'd be rather problematic, to be honest.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Good evening all. I am here looking for my muse. She seems to have run off with all my words again. Brandy, just a ginger ale tonight. Should keep myself sober.

    ReplyDelete
  11. You know how to whistle, don't you?

I don't know what that is, but I've had my As handed bach to me plenty of times.

  13. Evening Mdm. Wench & Co. I cracked a New Belgium Brewery Mothership Wit just as I walked into the Pub. Do you allow carry-ins?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Might I pitch a "room" at the new place? Dear RNC - sort of like a reverse Dear Abby where we write the RNC and help them along the correct path. We could send a link to What Up or whatever the heck silly thing they decided on. First letter will be Dear RNC: The blog? Not so much.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Thanks Brandy. Hi AW, that was some sprint up the stairs.

/I chose to wait for the stampede to die down. ;)

  21. It will still be a fun night with me and Brandy!

Always a fun night here at the Pub, AW! My favorite nights are the ones when Helen shows up ...the guys all seem so intimidated but she's always been a perfect lady to me. : )

    ReplyDelete
  22. See, JCM! It would be great - both cathartic and, perhaps, read by those that matter.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Helen is a hoot. She is probably decontaminating after defending fox. We will have to ask her about it if she shows up tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Brandy if Helen shows up tonight please send my drinks to table 10. I will be under it.:)))

Things are good, thanks. Still working on that gas station. Getting closer. I am being an hard ass, but the owner is still hanging around. Makes me ask why. But if it is on my terms, so be it.

    ReplyDelete
  29. GROG, for you Loflyer! How nice to see you here!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Ok. Done with the Mothership Wit.

Bar keep - A tankard of Ale if you will.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Well it's all for me grog, me jolly jolly grog
It's all for me beer and tobacco
For I spent all me tin with the lassies drinking gin
Far across the western ocean I must wander

Where are me boots, me noggin', noggin' boots?
They're all gone for beer and tobacco
For the heels they are worn out and the toes are kicked about
And the soles are looking out for better weather

Where is me shirt, my noggin', noggin' shirt?
It's all gone for beer and tobacco
For the collar is all worn, and the sleeves they are all torn
And the tail is looking out for better weather

I'm sick in the head and I haven't been to bed
Since first I came ashore with me slumber
For I spent all me dough on the lassies movin' slow
Far across the Western Ocean I must wander

Where is me bed, me noggin' noggin bed
It's all gone for beer and tobacco
Well I lent it to a whore and now the sheets are all tore
And the springs are looking out for better whether.

Where is me wench, me noggin' noggin' whence
She's all gone for beer and tobacco
Well her (clap) is all worn out and her (clap) is knocked about
And her (clap) is looking out for better whether.

  47. I kind of liked the company at Manuels, Lucius. I have been maintaining a lo-profile for the most part, I have been hanging out at the DeKalb police blog, but I find them sort of boring because they don't discuss national politics. We did do in Chief Bolton and his command staff though! So far, I like the crowd, I had sort of a rough start here, (self-inflicted).

  54. DGLander, I am finding the history channel extremely tiresome with its liberal doomsday documentaries. As for Glob Clusters, tonight would be a good night to take the scope out. 56. Q: Anyone here have any experience with a

    Collecting or primary defense?

A primary defense in 1911 style I would lean toward Kimber.

But for fun shooting anything goes.

Key in a primary defense is are you comfortable with it, and can put lead on target under stress with minimal effort.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Where is the furry guy?

Computer problems from what I hear, AW.

  63. JCM: Looking for .45 carry. I live in WI, one of two states w/o concealed carry laws. Bills have gone up twice ( I think) but vetoed by Governor Doyle. Seems that opposition may be thawing, and I want to get something beforehand. I know Kimber has a great reputation, but I have never fired one and I don't know anything about their carry models.

    ReplyDelete
  64. About the Colt combat commander, a good compact .45, shoots better than my 9 MM. There are a lot more modern designs out there, lighter and compact. The .45 is ultra-reliable and the knockdown power is awesome...

    ReplyDelete
  65. JCM: P.s.

I have small hands so prefer the grip on a .45 over the seemingly thicker grips due to staggered rounds on most 9mm's.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I'm drinking Coke Zero tonight, Brandy - thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  67. LoFlyer: I'm pretty selective in what I'll watch on the History Channel. I think the one I hate the most is "Life After People." The DaVinci code/Knights Templar programs are examples of rigorous scholarship by comparison.

    ReplyDelete
  68. The toasts up here in the Junior Ranks Mess was always "Queen and Country". First picture you saw on entry to the mess was the Queen. Enter door, salute, remove beret and enter. Next stop of course was the bar. :)

  71. Has anyone seen Pink Freud lately? I understand he was looking for me. (Probably wants to beat the tar out of me...)

    ReplyDelete
  72. I like that 1911 design, with the exception of cleaning and keeping that spring compressed during reassembly.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Pink is a she. I think she was studying - if I hear from her, I'll let her know you are looking for her.

    ReplyDelete
  74. My favorite History Channel production is the "Dogfights" series.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Welcome Rawmuse. You may (or not) have known me from a different place under a different name.

Same to you Loflyer. I have no idea what the dust up may have been, but I doubt it matters

Wonderful atmosphere here. Good to see you both

Kimber has some great carry sized 1911s.

Find a range with a good selection of rentals, or find a gun club where people are willing to let you try things out.

I carry a S&W MP Compact .40. IMHO it's handling is better than a .45, it terminal ballistics are a match for the .45 and it's size and weight are like a 9mm.

    ReplyDelete
  77. DGL, if you look at the credits, you will see most these history channel documentaries are by young producers eager to change the world and make money doing it. I always wonder what they will do when they become really successful like Michael Moore, and have to pay 60 percent in taxes..

    ReplyDelete
  78. Thanks, Brandy! And yes, rawmuse - you were missed by a lot of people! We're really pleased with the way things are shaping up here. So many great people. Again, so glad to see you!

  144. Presidential Election Outcome Affected Male Voters' Testosterone Levels, Study Finds

There is a direct correlation between the outcome of a political election and a man's testosterone level, researchers say in a Duke University study released Tuesday.

Young men in the study who voted for Republican John McCain or Libertarian candidate Robert Barr in the 2008 presidential election experienced an immediate drop in testosterone when the election results were announced showing McCain and Barr lost to Democrat Barack Obama. Men in the study who supported Obama had stable levels of the hormone, the study found.

  148. PaladinPhil:

I was in Toranto with my older brothers when we went into this bar called Grossman's. I was underage and in Toranto for the first time. Anyway, we go in and it is open mike night. We are there for a while and in walks Jeff Healy to sit in. So he sits down and asks if anyone out there plays drums. I did, but was drunk and underage and this was JEFF HEALY. No one comes up, so he shrugs and someone helps him to the kit. He starts playing drums for all of the other people there to jam. After a while another drummer comes in and he sits down with his guitar. What a night! I have 1 1/2 regrets in life and not sitting down to play with Jeff Healy was one of them.
