Official C2 Rush Limbaugh NFL Sunday Thread - Week 7

75 comments:

  1. Hey everyone. I am so looking forward to the Pats Bucs game. I wonder if the Bucs can keep it under 30 points. Anyone know what the spread is? BTW love the new site.

  2. Well, I'm indifferent to the NFL, and don't care for Rush, so instead I'll contribute this drive-by post.

Palestinian thugs stage a riot on the Temple Mount, throwing Molotov cocktails.

Israeli riot police respond, using force, of course, but non-lethal force, perfectly appropriate for riot control.

So, naturally, the Associated Press headline is....

Israeli police storm Jerusalem's holiest site

  3. By the way, if Wendy is around... thanks, Wendy, for your recommendations about the Mossberg. If we're on the same thread soon, I have a followup question or two for you, if you don't mind.

  4. Off to enjoy the rest of this beautiful autumn day here in DC. Later.

  5. Bit slow today? Here is a post about the self-righteous posturing of Rage Against the Machine guitar-owner Tom Morello concerning the alleged use of RATM recordings for torturing prisoners.

/Actually, I agree that being forced to listen to RATM constitutes torture.

  6. Hey OR. It is beautiful here isn't it...... I am off to watch my sons football team beat Olney at Good Council High School in Olney. I can't wait!

  7. OR, how dare the Israelis stop the Palestinians from practicing their religion, which requires them to attack Jews!

I consider that good fight music. Almost in the same league as bag pipes. :)

  11. Hey, where did everyone go?

    *sniff sniff*

Not my deodorant, and I had a shower last week...

  13. Well, I gotta run now. Have fun watching football and drinking beer.

    /go Argos go.... :)

  14. Later 2P. I am not drinking beer today. Drank enough last night at my churches community fest. I have made a big pitcher of margaritas. Just about to pour my second one. I think I went a bit heavy on the tequila. :)))

  15. Of course the Buccaneers are terrible. It is hard to play with hooks for hands and a parrot on the shoulder.

  16. Hey friends, just wanted to wish everyone a good week as I head off to Brazil on yet another business trip. Don't think I can get this blog on my computer, because it is blocked as a social networking site. Can read it on the Blackberry, but can't post on that.
So happy week, talk to you all on Friday.

    (And go Phillies!)

  17. Have a great trip VT. By the time you get back you should find us in our new home. Make sure to look out for the email with all the details.

  18. The Bucs really do suck this year. Another blowout for the Pats. 21-0 early in the second.

  19. The Redskins aren't going to lose today!

Year 41 of the NFL boycott for me.

    /Never got into sports

  23. Too bad we can't boycott the Arabs.

Where's our Nobel Peace Prize winner to point out that this doesn't help bring peace in the Mideast?

  24. Very OT, but worth the read. It seems that the MSM is possibly coming out of their stupor, at least in this case:

  25. Good whatever-it-is, C2ers! I was up until 6:30AM "drawing" (that's my excuse for being up at noon)...what's shakin'?

Nana, there are no real topics here to be off of. ; ) (We love people bringing news links onto any thread. Feel free!)

That's where I was last week. I was putting up NFL threads every Sunday, but last week I just felt like giving them the middle digit.

So I made that graphic instead.

Are we on the same side this time, gak? : )

  29. Thanks, CC!

I hate to get between football fans and their football! ;) The odds are really daunting.

  30. Oh, ETR - you logged in over there? Cool!

We're so paranoid - we think it's all set to go and then BOOM, somebody finds a bug. HOPEFULLY, we'll get it all humming perfectly this week. He had some kind of issue that was unique to Mozilla users to fix last night...that's the kind of thing we're finding at this point.

I'm glad you like it! I love the way it looks, myself - Bare has done a wonderful job, imo.

I have been playing by myself over there all morning. I have a few suggestions which I posted. I like the posting features. Much better than blogspot.

  33. I hate to get between football fans and their football! ;)

Nana, I swear this is true:

Seven minutes before Super Bowl XXXI (Packers/Pats), I broke out in a rash because I was so nervous. I remember earlier that week seeing some little kid on Leno or some late night show who was being interviewed, and when he was asked about the Super Bowl, he said, "It's only a game."

I remember thinking, "You know, he's right!" (But I broke out in the rash anyway.)

It's good to yank us football fans back to reality now and then. LOL

I just changed over. Sorry gak I am rooting for the Vikings. I would really like to see Farve get a ring. Makes us old guys look good.

Oh, good! They'll develop over time, of course. He just added a link viewer type feature last night (though I haven't seen yet how he has us navigating over there); I know the page exists because I did the graphic for it at about 4:00AM...and he was awake to upload it!

Thanks for the suggestions, whatever they are - I'll check 'em out in a little while.

I see your point. I have nothing against Farve getting a ring.

Stealers just turned over the ball, btw.

You misunderstand. 0bama's Nobel Peace Prize isn't the type they give out for Middle East negotiations.

0bama's Nobel Peace Prize was the type they give out for serving beer to a Harvard professor and the cop who arrested him.

  45. CC

    Hilarious!

I have to admit that I am not a sports fan, but am just like my Mum OBM...she knew even less than I do, but was a fanatic fan of the home teams..the Red Sox, Celtics,Bruins and the Braves, before they left Boston (then they were on another list;)...and when the Pats started playing? She was their fan.

Can you tell that I am originally from Boston? Seriously, only my male cousins went to games with my Dad OBM...I guess my Mum and I were not supposed to be interested. Thinking about it so many years after, I really don't remember any of my friends going to games either.

Now? Our 3 sons and our daughter were taken to Mets games so often. Daughter, though, just wasn't interested, but loved going. And her husband is not a sports fan, so I wonder what the 3 year old grandson will be like when he is old enough.

  46. Howdy kids -- just got back from a weekend in Alabama in a cabin with a fireplace that didn't draw properly, hence everything smells like smoke. And not the good kind either.

That ref looks like his bell was rung.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Hard to predict, Nana! I grew up in Packer country during the sixties when Vince Lombardi was coach, so EVERYBODY was a fan.

I've known guys with parents who had Seahawks season tickets who couldn't care less (they were musicians, if that makes a difference), and I've seen it go the other way too.

There are worse things to be fans of. : )

You and Bare should get along - he's a New Englander originally, and a rabid, rabid Pats fan. It's one of only about two or three things we've ever fought about in eight years. (Yes, we had a fight about Randy Moss! LOL)

    ReplyDelete
  48. Hi, L/S! I love cabins! Where were you? (As general as you like is fine - "planet earth", or whatever.)

    ReplyDelete
  49. Hi Lucius - the ref was flattened. Haven't heard how he's doing, but he's obviously off the field.

    ReplyDelete
  50. We stayed at Chewacla state park, just outside of Auburn. We had three cabins for 12 people for a sort of mini family reunion.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Hey CC and Gak.

Pittsburgh got lucky on that last play.

I love me some Vince. I have an autograph, even. And one of my favorite books of all time is When Pride Still Mattered. (And it did!)

What flavor of turnover if you don't mind (I don't have it on)? Fumble, INT?

  56. Violet!

Dang. I missed your post...have a quick trip to Brazil and back so that you can really celebrate your anniversary!

    CC

I will never, ever even get a clue as to what a football game is! Seriously. baseball and basketball I can just about explain, but the look on NY Grampa's face? He really tires very hard not to ROTFL...at that point I turn it over to him.

I think that most people stay loyal to their home team, even when they move out of country.

I have never forgiven the Braves for leaving Boston, and NY Grampa? Do not mention the Dodgers when you are near him!Dem bums betrayed him!
