The Daily Broadside - Monday Morning Edition

Guess who:

“I’m convinced that today the majority of Americans want what those first Americans wanted: A better life for themselves and their children; a minimum of government authority. Very simply, they want to be left alone in peace and safety to take care of the family by earning an honest dollar and putting away some savings. This may not sound too exciting, but there is something magnificent about it.”

  42. doppel,

Unfortunately it makes sense in the world view of the radical islamofascist.

It kills the infidel, never mind if the UN office was staffed with only locals and Muslims, the target was the UN. Second, it sends a message to the local population, don't go to anyone but us for aid.

The problem on our side of the fence is that our officials have very hard time wrapping their minds around the "logic" of the doppel,

Unfortunately it makes sense in the world view of the radical islamofascist. Until we as a whole can do that, we're always going to be reacting, never really in front of them.

No matter what label we put on such acts, we have to come to terms with the fact that such acts are logical, and effect in the mind of the doppel,

Unfortunately it makes sense in the world view of the radical islamofascist, and the fact it makes sense for them to blow up a food distribution center.

you probably know this anyway but...

The NIE stated only that the intelligence community had a high degree of confidence that Iran had suspended work on the weaponization phase of their nuclear program from 2003 to 2006. After 2006, the confidence level dropped to moderate. Through the same time period, Iran continued to work on the enrichment and ballistic missile phases of their nuclear weapons program.

The NIE never said that Iran had stopped their nuclear weapons program, but only that temporarily they may have slowed down one part of it.

  83. And today from Rasmussen:

    "Health Care Reform
Support for Health Care Reform Plan Up to 46%
Forty-six percent (46%) of voters nationwide now favor the health care reform plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats. That’s up five points from a week ago. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 50% are opposed to the plan.

With the exception of “bounces” following a couple of nationally televised presidential appearances, this is the first time support for the congressional health care effort has risen. Rasmussen Reports is tracking support for the plan on a weekly basis.

Seventy-eight percent (78%) of Democrats now favor the plan while 80% of Republicans are opposed. Among those not affiliated with either major party, 39% favor the plan, but 55% oppose it.

While voters have concerns about the details of the plan being considered in Congress, 54% of voters believe major changes are needed in the health care system. Sixty-one percent (61%) say it’s important for Congress to pass health care reform this year, but most would prefer a series of smaller reforms rather than a comprehensive approach.
As Scott Rasmussen, president of Rasmussen Reports, wrote recently in the Wall Street Journal: “The most important fundamental is that 68% of American voters have health insurance coverage they rate good or excellent. … Most of these voters approach the health care reform debate fearing that they have more to lose than to gain.”

  102. Zombie got banned because one is not allowed to leave up comments in a comment section anywhere in the blogosphere in which anybody says bad things about a certain person. If such comments appear, certain associates of said certain person will show up and insult you, then go back and inform the certain person that bad things are being said about him. If the certain person or his informants make a mistake about who said what bad things about the certain person it does not matter. If anybody should point out to the certain person that he made an error in banning somebody then that person will also be banned.

  107. Excellent summation, Kenneth.

I know that our policies bug some people, and it's hard to know exactly where "the line" is. This is a new blog, but a lot of the people here have known each other for years and there is a certain familiarity you all share. The one common link for everyone here, is they used to be members of another website. That is our shared history.

We have all been wanting to just look ahead, leave the past in the rear-view mirror, and have not wanted to get involved with the "blog war" that is occurring.

We, the admins and mods, have bent over backwards to ensure that we didn't get caught up in it. Comments that have seemed innocent were occasionally deleted ( maybe 1% of the posts here) because we have wanted to "take the high road".

In turn, this has gotten us nothing but a ration of shit, lies, smears, and accusations from other parties. It also led to many more people joining us.

Frankly, I like our policy. I can sleep at night, knowing that I am a better person for it.

Anyway... any other news out there, besides Obama: Obama enlists doctors in healthcare reform campaign and Favre?

    ReplyDelete
  108. Hey RB, have you guys tried to get the word out at zombietime about C2? Would you object to me pointing people from that site here?
