  9. Carbon Is Forever

James Bond took a long pull at the cold, hard drink. He sat back in the deep-red leather chair and reached for the cigarette case in the pocket of his houndstooth suit. He scanned the late evening crowd for signs of the enemy; his eyes came to rest on a raven-haired woman with porcelain skin. Bond took a Morland cigarette (the one with a triple gold band) from the flat, light gunmetal case and wondered how dangerous the mission would be.

We do have a hot date, don't we? ;-)

It is 2:11am here so no hot dating anymore.
I seem to have forgotten in those 18+ years of relationship/marriage how to talk women into going out with me. :-(

  17. Killian Bundy - that's a great article. I like this part:
"James, you have to understand," Leiter said, chasing after him. "It's not really the CIA anymore, it's the CYA. At least no one gets prosecuted for doing his job at the Center on Climate Change and National Security."

  18. Brandy: Well it's still hanging on by it's fingernails, but I think I am over the worst of it finally. Today has been quite nice for that. I will see how tomorrow goes. Should be heading up north with some friends and doing some target practice.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I'll have a glass of Cabernet, Brandy.

  22. No snow yet Brandy. It's been cold enough a couple of mornings for it though. I still expect to see some by the end of the month. If you have seen my blog posting on the snow from the end of last year...

/now where did I put my damned shovel.

    ReplyDelete
  23. In central Mass, we've already had some snow, but no accumulation. I did have to brush it off the cars, though.
I wonder if I can send the stuff to Al Gore.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Pale Ale ... got it, JCM. I'll make sure we stock it for ya!

Phil, I betcha Helen would be happy to help you shovel ... I hear she's good at that. ;-)

    Thanks for the tunes, Cal!

(Then he wakes you up with Myron Florin on the accordion.)
ARRRGHG!! Flashbacks to my parents music!

Well, I do still like some of that; the good big bands, and even Al Jolson (does that make me racist, since he performed in blackface?)

A vampire bat comes back to his fellow vampires with a blood on his mouth. They stare at him jealously and ask him where he got the blood. He asks them, "Did you see that tree back there?"

  42. Top 10 Reasons Rush Limbaugh Can’t Own an NFL Team

    10. Not just released from prison for killing a bunch of dogs (Michael Vick, Eagles).
    9. Not caught with 213 pounds of marijuana (former Cowboy Nate Newton).
    8. Not accused of breaking his assistant’s jaw (Raider coach Tom Cable).
    7. Never tried to run over a female police officer with his car (Patriot receiver Randy Moss).
    6. Not serving time in prison for seven counts of assault with a deadly weapon (former Ram Lawrence Phillips).
    5. Not part of an entourage that fired a gun into a crowd, wounding three (former Titan Adam “Pacman” Jones).
    4. Never killed a pedestrian while driving drunk (Browns receiver Donte Stallworth).
    3. Not serving time in prison for conspiring to kill his pregnant girlfriend (former Carolina player Rae Carruth).
    2. Not a double murderer (O.J.).
    1. And the number one reason Rush Limbaugh can’t own an NFL team: He’s a white conservative man who tells the truth.

I hope one of the charges is being stupid, because that was one large example of being stupid....

They should charge those parents with the cost of the "attempted rescue"....that had to cost $1000's.

The "tea party" movement is back.

Groups of conservative protesters opposed to massive government spending are taking to the streets again, this time targeting the media.

The "Can You Hear Us Now" rallies are planned for Saturday in front of NBC studios in Burbank, CNN in Atlanta and affiliate stations of NBC, ABC and CBS across the nation.

"American citizens outraged by President Obama and the actions of Congress have set their sights on a new target -- the so-called mainstream media -- with tea-party protests now set to boil in front of more than 30 press offices across the U.S.," the lead organizing group, FaxDC, wrote in a press release.

  80. I agree, VT, it should be fun to watch. None of the MSM will cover it except Fox, which in turn will prompt CNN, MSNBC, ABC etc to report on Fox reporting on it ... this will give them another opportunity to show their immaturity by mocking the use of the word 'teabaggers'.
