C2 PREVIEW: All About The Benjamins

Financial forum. Hmmmm...what to call it? Money Matters? Too dry for this crowd. Money Talk? Nope. That's the name of a local radio talk show. Gimme Some Money? Nah. Though we love us some Spinal Tap, that seemed to miss the mark.

And then a lightbulb went on in our heads. We decided to call it All About The Benjamins.

Now, we wanted to get this right, because we are extremely fortunate to have on board as your host for this forum a genuine economics expert who goes by the name of...are you ready? Have you guessed yet?

[INSERT DRUM ROLL HERE.]

YES! We are talking about the inimitable 3WOOD! He needs no introduction to the majority of you, but I would like to add that in addition to being just plain brilliant when it comes to the greenbacks, he is a genuine Good Guy whose charity to others is just plain impressive. He'll be able to shape All About the Benjamins to his liking - but we're guessing this is where you'll go on C2 for market talk, investment discussions, complaints about the cost of a movie ticket - any and all things scratch.

An added bonus: Mr. 3wood is also a major sports buff and a player himself, and we're hoping he'll help out in the not-yet-announced area of C2 where the NFL/MLB/NHL talk will be going on.

So please use this thread to welcome 3wood...guys, did we score, or what?

  9. Latest O'Keefe video to be shown top of the hour:

    LINK

    ACORN Organizer: "I killed him . . . I shot him.”

"The fourth installment of James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles's undercover report on ACORN is supposed to drop within the hour at BigGovernment.com and will be aired on Glenn Beck at 5:00 p.m. This time the duo took their sting operation to California, where an employee named Theresa confesses that she killed her allegedly abusive husband, and laid some "groundwork" beforehand."

More at link. Beck will have it at 4 CST.

  19. Hi Erik. Grey over-cast sky, beginning to get autumn %-)
My visit will have to wait until I have my separation all sorted out, is an expensive enterprise. As soon as all that is out of the way and/or I win the green-card I’ll be over in the US. The states is the place to be for me. Even though I have no clue as to what job I’ll do to earn my living there.
    / Mc-jobs or 7eleven, that is the question? /

  20. PBJ, 3wood hasn't seen it yet, as far as I'm aware. Hopefully he'll like it too! We're pretty attached to this one. : )

Currently I work as a teacher for adult immigrants. Teaching them to write their CV's on the computer in order to make them fit for the job market.
I am a trained agricultural engineer with a MSc in Agro 'n Food Marketing.

I am certain that I would manage in the states. But starting a new life all over is a tough thing to get your mind around.

  30. P2: This over at Hot Air ...Charlie Gibson doesn't even know about the O'Keefe/ACORN story (so says):

"Don Wade and Roma at Chicago’s WLS-AM ask outgoing ABC News anchor Charlie Gibson about why most media outlets have failed to cover the ACORN story — and they get a better answer than they must have expected. Instead of a discourse over editorial policy, Gibson proclaims his ignorance of the story — even though the Senate acted last night to cut off funds to the group, and days after the Census Bureau publicly extricated itself from its relationship with ACORN. When pressed, Gibson indicates that the story is apparently beneath his standards, as Michelle highlights in the transcript:

Gibson: I know we’ve done some stories about ACORN before, but this one I don’t know about…"

  33. Pinkie, Gibson is a, well, pick your epithet. Only Sarah Palin is worth trying to embarrass. These guys? Not so much.

I just put a thread upstairs about the ACORN thing - if you want to add anything to it, please do - I'm listening to a local guy talk about it on the radio, and I just don't even know what to say. (I heard the audio and grabbed it over on B/G...just stunning.)
