Is that avatar a biker dog or steam-punk fido?
(cute)
It took me a while to figure out HOW to post.
ReplyDelete{misstrixie} TCG to ya.
ReplyDeleteHow do I add my avatar? Anyone?
ReplyDeleteHey, Miss Trixie - don't misunderestimate our Bare.
ReplyDeleteYou ought to hear his snowman story.
(Hi Desert Dog!)
OKAY, I'll tell you.
When our Bare was a young lad of eight, he used to build snowmen in his front yard.
Some older neighborhood kids decided that it would be funny to drive onto the Bare family lawn and mow the snowmen down. They did this repeatedly.
One night, our Bare got the idea to build his snowman around the fire hydrant that was in front of the house.
Lying in bed that night, he heard the crash and sound of crunching metal, water spewing all over the frozen street, and a bunch of "WTF" screaming from the kids in the car.
Now that's pretty clever, if you ask me!
desert dog,
ReplyDeleteI know, me too. Luckily I had a google email acct. I had to search for the password though. Its been a while since I logged into the gmail.
desert dog - click on your nic and it should bring up your profile. From there you can upload whatever avatar you want.
ReplyDeleteAt least that's how I did it.
Desert, it looks like you're using Typepad? Is that right?
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if the process is the same as it is for the Blogger users. I don't think it is, and I'm not sure how you add one to a Typepad account.
Maybe someone else knows.
Is that avatar a biker dog or steam-punk fido?
ReplyDeleteIt's just a cute pic of a yorkie biker dog that a good friend of mine sent me *waves at Mar* after I mentioned how cute it was adorning her blog.
Your avatar pic is snoozily adorable.

ReplyDeleteIt does, DD, and I see your dog. Hmmmm. Let me ask Bare if he knows - though he's busy today and it could be a while.

A gmail account takes about sixty seconds to set up these days, and you can use whatever display name you like (it doesn't have to match your login).
ReplyDeleteThat's what I would probably do at this point - just create a quick blogging account. Avatars are easy to upload and display if you have that.

“President Obama dreams of a world without weapons … but right in front of us two countries are doing the exact opposite.
ReplyDelete“Iran since 2005 has flouted five security council resolutions. North Korea has been defying council resolutions since 1993.
“I support the extended hand of the Americans, but what good has proposals for dialogue brought the international community? More uranium enrichment and declarations by the leaders of Iran to wipe a UN member state off the map,” he continued, referring to Israel.
The sharp-tongued French leader even implied that Mr Obama’s resolution 1887 had used up valuable diplomatic energy.
“If we have courage to impose sanctions together it will lend viability to our commitment to reduce our own weapons and to making a world without nuke weapons,” he said.

I used to torment my younger sister (who didn't?) when we were growing up. Because there were 7 girls and way too many chores, Mom used to deligate these to whomever were old enough to handle them. I always had to make my sister's lunch for the next day and she always pestered me to make it just so because she was a very fussy eater.
She would only eat bologna on white bread (don't cut my sammidge!) with hot dog mustard, a hard boiled egg and green jello for dessert.
So I carefully cut out a round piece of wax paper and placed it between the bologna and mustard so that when she took a big bite, the wax paper slooped all the way out and slapped her chin bright yellow with gobs of mustard.
I replaced the hard-boiled eggs with raw and her green jello? Made with pickle juice!
My butt burned for a whole week once Mom found out ... yowzers!
Bare, anyone who at eight years-old thinks to build a snowman around a fire hydrant like that is about as clever as they come. : )

I know that if I'm a pain in the ass they won't pay attention to Molly - so I'm not a pain in the ass - 22 hrs after all. On the other hand, fear may be a good thing - as in - fuck with my dog and die.

Oh, y'all...I've got to tell you the best story. A friend of mine from the lake was at Wal Mart today. She had major surgery a couple of months ago and was on a ventilator for 2 weeks. Rachel yelled, "oh hell no, you mf's (without the abbreviation), grabbed the arm of the one who was closet and bit the crap out of him. He started screaming and the other one tried to run but by then other people had run over and wrestled them both to the ground. When asked why she bit him, Rachel replied because she couldn't get to her gun in the glove compartment. LOL! I love this woman.

In defense of vets
ReplyDeleteI need to dial it down a bit. I'm totally devoted to my family as all of us are and if I don't get the support that I think is needed, I'm a bitch on wheels.
What most of us know as 'domestic' vets love the animals and put up with the human guardians. Understandable. The regular vacs etc. Molly is a hard case. She will never be well. Her disease is a genetic/auto-immune disorder. There is no 'feel good' in it for them.
Oh, did I remember to ask who the FUCK I need to kill?
Our hearts are broken. But there is one good thing we know. We found her in a odd confluence of events. The first time she saw me, she came straight to me. Mom. If ever there was a home meant by You Know Who to care for her, this is the one.
In the meantime, I think I'll just be pissed off, thank yew very much.

Natch, Dad put it in his briefcase with a promise he will, then forgot all about the Post Office and only remembered (D'oh!) when he opened his briefcase at work. Hence, the personal mail in the office outgoing.
I spied it immediately and my heart melted at the endearing effort and I howled out loud to read to whom it was addressed.
Sticky fingerprints where stamps were crookedly applied; the return address was written in pencil, parts erased, smeared and rewritten correctly and in a very painstaking, childish scrawl (you can imagine the child, tongue sticking out, his face mere inches from the envelope and concentrating mightily to get it just right), it was addressed to:
