    The latest extrapolated results from the German election from 7:09PM:
    CDU - 33.6% - minus 1.6% Black
    SPD - 23.0% - minus 11.2% Red
    FDP - 14.7% - plus 4.9% Yellow
    Linke - 12.2% - plus 3.5% Red (dark red)
    Greens - 10.5% - plus 2.4%
    Pirates – 1.9% - plus 1.9%



    That means that my wish constellation might well come to pass. A Black/Yellow coalition.

    thanks to the Ford Family and their mismagement of a onec proud NFL franchise, and a world record 19 consecutive losses, the Lions-Redskins game is blacked out.
    I don't mind missing the POS Lions, but I would have liked to see the redskins

    FDP gained, eh? That's interesting. They're the sort of "limosine liberal" party.

    German parties meet in taverns. In the town I lived in the CDU/CSU bar was my regular hang out. Kind of place where when I went in after being gone for two years I sat down and the barkeep put my usual order on the table without me having to order.

    The SPD place was definately higher end and snobbier.

    The FDP Gaststube was a fern bar.

    The Commies met in the student coop bar. It went out of business and was replaced by a tony Tapas bar.

    I never did see where the Greens met. Not that I looked all that hard.

    That would make sense.

    Of course, when I'm in Germany I avoid those sorts of places. They usually don't serve Zwiebelfleisch mit Bratkartoffeln. And their beer tends to be too expensive and come in glasses that are much too small.

    One of my standard haunts nowadays when I visit is the "Hotel Messerschmitt." Yep -- Willy's grand-neice runs it now. The dining room is decorated with pictures of his airplanes.

    That is a great race Shug. I was hoping Boston would sweep the Yanks and make that a race down the stretch, but that doesn't look likely. We have the AA affiliate of the Twins in the next town over, so I tend to like seeing them do well. However, my wife has family in the Detroit area, so there is that too.

    The Redsox are certainly still in the mix. Not sure about the Dodgers. It depends which team shows up. I like the Cardinals and the Phillies from the NL. Either way, I think the Yankees, Red Sox and the Angels are better than anyone in the NL

    I agree. I don't see either team from the central getting past the Yanks or the Sox. The Angels are another story. I still think it will come down to a Boston/New York series, though. Then it is all about pitching.

    BTW. Boston is up 1-0 after one. A-Roid just struck out with Jeter on third and two out. Ha!

    Seems the "vast right-wing conspiracy" is still out there...haunting poor Slick Willie. These Democrats crack me up. They are still thinking that has been some sort of shift in this country. Once Obama gets done destroying the economy and coddles one too many dictators in favor of our allies....the "chickens will come home to roost". All that is missing for the Republicans now is a viable leader.

    Whatever momentum the left had....it's quickly going away. 2010 will be a blood bath for the Democrats....and, hopefully, 2012 will see Obama join the 1 Termer Club

    The 49ers are looking tough this year. They shut the Cardinals down in Phoenix in week 1. They got so much pressure on Warner, he couldn't do anything. They win this and they are 3-0 with St. Louis, Atlanta at home, a bye and then Houston. They could be 6-0 in 4 weeks.

    Just surround the test you want to quote like this, but remove the asterisks (leave no spaces where the asterisks were):

    To use bold, swap the "i" for a "b".

    Truck, let me help!

    Go to your own profile/dashboard - whatever you see there, and click on "edit profile" or "edit picture".

    If you go to "edit profile", you can just scroll down, and you'll see a place where you can enter a url or upload one from your computer. Scroll down and save your changes, and you're done.

    If you need assistance on how to find the url for an image you find online, just do this: Right click on the picture you like (a square pic will work best, remember it will be teeny), scroll down to "properties" and select that - copy the part you see that says "address" or "url", can't remember which - hightlight it, right click on it, select "copy", then go to the window where blogspot is asking for it, put your cursor in the window, right click and select "paste".

    (I probably screwed that all up, so somebody please correct me if I did. I'm not being careful but I have fifty things going on at once.)

    It's easier than it sounds.
