Re-post: Welcome (we're so glad you're all here!), and FYI

If you have been invited to be a part of Correspondence Committee, you aren't yet in the right place, but you are close. This is not the site you were initially invited to, but it is where we will gather until usability testing is done.

It shouldn't be much longer.

In the meantime, please feel free to hang around here (comments will be open to public viewing on this Blogspot version of C2). Think of it as a waiting room.

Oh - and one last thing. While we understand that blog-bashing - or even dishing about other blogs - may be tempting for some, it's not what we're about, so please find another outlet for any negative feelings you may have about other political forums or their members. Thanks! The espresso machine is on the counter.

  1. Just a dash of cinnamon in mine, please.

What? Oh, you mean I have to get it myself?

    Okaaaay.

Can I get anyone anything while I'm up? :-)

  3. I'll pull you a shot of espresso, Pinkie, if you'll cook me something in that pit of yours. Deal?

  4. You're in luck! Tonight it was chicken breasts, smoked sausage, and boudin. Boudin is to die for when smoked on a pit.

    Deal!

(You'll have to come by when I make the cholesterol-log ....yum, yum!)

  5. Thanks Correspondence Committee. I promise to be just as good of a commenter here as I was at 'other' blogs.

    :')

And I'm glad that rw is here too.

  7. More "tax advice", "homebuyer assistance" investigations in Shreveport into a "non-profit" association who will happily match your $1 with up to $4 of "community assistance funding".

Coincidentally, they list partners the ACORN Community Land Association and the ACORN Housing Association.

  8. Why is it that the liberal media speaks in racist language yet it's conservatives (aka the GOP) who are branded racists?

"Republicans are now benefiting from the tens of thousands of angry white people who descended on Washington over the weekend—but they’ve tapped into something ugly that they can’t control, says John Avlon.

The weirdness of the Wingnut summer isn’t over. The anger has metastasized into the body politic, and it’s going to get a lot uglier from here.

Obama Derangement Syndrome is establishing itself as a potent political force, able to rally tens of thousands of citizens to the Washington Mall after Glenn Beck’s call. Joe Wilson’s outburst isn’t an embarrassment of incivility to these folks; it is a rallying cry for an army of useful idiots. But Republicans will soon find that they cannot contain or moderate this strain—while Democrats won’t understand what hit them.

The wave of white people that descended on Washington, D.C., this Saturday wasn’t motivated by simple racism, as some liberals might wish—at least that’s what the lady waving the Confederate flag told me. No, this was something else: a pent-up frustration at unprecedented Washington overspending and an individualistic resentment of the welfare state, all mixed with a dose of self-referential patriotism and a spicy dash of paranoia."

  9. The Packers won, and in a cool, come-from-behind last minute win.

I am so over Brett Favre.

    Carry on. : )

  10. That's nice to hear, C2. It ain't cool to be smitten with a 40 year old who's the new 60, or a 60 year old who's the new 40, or .....

    /something like that

  11. Hahahah...well, check this out.

I have a towel that he used. I really do (don't ask me how I got that!). And a signed football, two issues of SI he signed, and I gave my brother a ballcap he signed on the bill.

And you know what? I don't care about any of it anymore. I am very close to just putting it all in a package and selling it on eBay.

    And I loved him!

Anyway...interesting piece you put up there, about the racism. This is nothing but an attempt to insulate Obama from criticism.

I still don't see what the difference is between making GWB 'The Joker' and making him 'The Joker'. I wish someone could credibly explain that to me, 'cause I just don't see why one is okay and the other is bad.

  12. Explaining that credibly cannot be done. It's a cheap trick. It's starting to look like cheap tricks on us are all they've got.

What's amazing is how they've managed to convince their little lock step army to all use the same weasel words over and over and over ........

  14. Right now, 48/48 Rasmussen on health care - he got a bounce out of his speech, but it doesn't look like it's coming from the middle or the right:

The post-speech bounce continues with the nation now evenly divided over the health care reform plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats, but the increase in support is still coming from Democratic voters rallying to their leader.

  15. Good Morning C2. I hope everyone has a great week. My kids only have 3 days at school this week. We are trying to figure out what and where to go. We want to stay local so we may do some of the parks around Orlando.
