  2. Well here I go again, still trying to post as realwest, not some number that TypePad started giving me a couple of days ago!
    Sigh.
Bar Wench, hit me with a shot of Jack D., please.

    ReplyDelete
  3. You've got it, 6p00e55005f9c78834. :o)

    ReplyDelete
  4. Hmmm...it says 'realwest' when I click on your name. I wonder what happened.

Anyway, how are you doing tonight?

    ReplyDelete
  5. Well other than the fact that TypePad is screwing around and NOT posting my nicname which IS realwest, damnit and when I went to open a google account google said I already had one! But then played hide and seek with it!
So I'm stuck with being a number, not a name.
    Sigh.
Doesn't that just tug at your heartsrtings, Bar Wench?
And BTW, what's your name sweetie?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Good evening all. Finally dragged my ass home from my weekly obsession. So how's things going?

/yo bar wench, rum and coke please
//yarrgghhh, it be "Talk like a pirate" day. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  7. Brandy! You can call me Brandy, Bar Wench Brandy, Bar Wench, or Wench...or Wench, Bar. :o)

    ReplyDelete
  8. Good evening, PaladinPhil! One rum and coke, heavy on the rum, coming right up!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Sigh, I'd better hold onto just this one Jack D. Bar Wench. I made two mistakes in that last post by 6p00e55005r9c78834 - Google played hide and seek with my password and it wouldn't let me indicate C2 or CorrComm or even Correspondence Committee as a blog favorite!
And I did mean your heart Strings, darlin'!

    ReplyDelete
  10. You're kind of a flirt, aren't you, 6p00e55005r9c78834? ;o)

    ReplyDelete
  11. PaladinPhil, what is your 'weekly obsession'? Do we wanna know? ;o)

    ReplyDelete
  12. Hmmmm, anyone else having difficulties getting onto facebook, or is it just me?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Brandy? I hear you're a fine girl and what a good wife you'd be, but my heart, my lady, is the sea!!

    ReplyDelete
  14. I can get to the front page, but I have to type www into the url, Phil.

I don't have a facebook account, so I can't check further for you.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Do you guys like football? We'll be watching the games in here on Sunday and on Monday night.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Hey P2 - it's just you!

Just kidding, I don't do Facebook and have no idea!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Thanks Bar Wench. Might be just me. Any way my weekly obsession is table top role playing games with my friends. Good way of socializing and blowing off steam. Also good for laughs at some of our antics.

    ReplyDelete
  18. That's the song? Uh, are you by any chance wearing a golden earring?!?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Hmmm...table top role playing games? Is that where you have an identity and you stay in a role or something?

6p, realwest, my earring is silver...is that bad? I don't look good in gold.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Two men in here and neither wants to talk about football. The game of the week is the late game on Sunday, imho.

I, ummmm, am not a Dallas fan!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I like places that don't open till Midnight.

    Hey 6p00e55005f9c78834! How's it going?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Hi, Geepers! What can I get you to drink?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Bar Wench - no, it's not bad, it's just that iirc the song Brandy was performed by a group called Golden earring.
Plus I'm gettin' e-mails from folks that I don't know how to answer.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Hey Geepers, it's me, realwest!! Damn TypePad and damn Google all to hell and back.
Anway my friend, how the heck are you tonight?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Tanqueray & Tonic thanks.

    Nice place ya got here.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Let me see if I can get the boss to help you out, realwest.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Ah no, Bar Wench it's the Cowboys Giants. Cowboys are favored for all sorts of mystical reasons, but I figure my NY GIANTS are gonna kick their asses!
Slide another one down this way, would ya please?!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Thank you, Geepers. If you guys get hungry or need a refill, just scream "BRANDY!!!!" at the top of your lungs. :o)

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'm good. You look like your having fun.

    ReplyDelete

Hmmm...table top role playing games? Is that where you have an identity and you stay in a role or something?

Yep something like that. Play several styles of games. Sci-fi, fantasy, mixes of the two. I seem to pick myself some interesting roles though.

    ReplyDelete
  31. A fresh Jack coming your way, realwest! And the Giants are my pick, too. But how is their record @ Dallas?

    ReplyDelete
  32. The boss? Ya mean Bruce Springstein is in here tonight?!
LOL - please don't bother the boss darlin', I just gotta get some sleep soon!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Phil, if you feel like elaborating, I'm curious about your roles. If you don't feel like elaborating, I'll just keep pouring drinks!

    ReplyDelete
  34. A couple more Jacks and you won't have any trouble sleeping. :o)

    ReplyDelete
  35. Not really Geepers. If y'all go to the top of the thread and work your way down, you'll see I've been having all sorts of problems posting here at CorrComm since yesterday.
Now TypePad won't publish my comments as by realwest, but as by that number and that damn google says I already have an account, but it's being coy, and won't give me the damn password or let me select this blog as my blog of cherce!!
And what's worse, all those handicap letters are actually spelling real words to me. NO REALLY, they are!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm having a great time, Geepers! I hope we get busy tonight, but a lot of people are away this weekend, or celebrating Rosh Hashana.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Brandy at the top of my lungs!

Well, where's my food and beverage Wench?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Well let's see if we turned on the lights.

    ReplyDelete
  39. What can I get you to eat, realwest? The grill is hot.

    Anyone else?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Great avatar, Geepers! Did you make it yourself?

    ReplyDelete
  41. I like 6p00e55005f9c78834. You should keep it.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Hmmm.....what to eat........grilled..... say, do y'all have a deep fat frier (like they use for French Fries)?!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Oh, yes. We also have a variety of burgers, pizzas, and finger foods!

    ReplyDelete

No problem at all. I take all sorts of roles, from the combat monster type to snively geek. Current game is a cyberpunk (tech) meets magic. I play a character that is a street squatter, with paranoia, and manic depressive. he's also capable of tapping into the net with just his mind. Has connections in 4 major cities across North America where he teaches a small group of kids like him. He also has an AI as a high level contact and friend. Currently him and his "brothers" are looking for work in the shadows to make enough money to help there "Pop" who got beat up badly and his business destroyed.

His handle is Fagin, and his real name is Mycroft Homes. Here's the thread where we plan and recap what happened during the session.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Finger foods, why I never....um,no wait a minute that's a lie.
I'd like me some French Frieds SMOTHERED in Brown Gravy!

    ReplyDelete
  46. So, it sounds like you have a choice of characters, but the characters are defined for you by someone else...and then you stay IN character to play the game? You give them personality?

Pardon my ignorance, please. I'm fascinated, but completely unfamiliar. Maybe your link will explain it to me, and you won't have to keep answering my questions. :o) I've got it open in another window.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Fries with gravy? Now, is that gravy in the Italian sense (tomato sauce), or is that gravy like Thanksgiving gravy?

I don't want to be wrong about that one. LOL

I think so too! It's cute! What kind of avatar though?

    ReplyDelete
  49. Well you build your characters using rules. Some games you can pick positive qualities along with negative qualities. Negative qualities will give you more options in building your character. Working it all together in a persona takes a little skill to pull off. Best compliment I recieved was when I was told my character was "all over the place". That was a good compliment. :)

/in one session covering a span of several days my character went through all cycles of the manic depressive cycle. It made life interesting for the rest of the party.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Now wait just a minute there PaladinPhil -Mycroft Holmes is MY brother! Watson quick, get my 7% solution, my walking stick and your Walter! The game is afoot!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Manic depressive, huh? I wish our resident shrink was here to test your skills! ;o)

    ReplyDelete
  52. I think so too! It's cute! What kind of avatar though?

    Something simple.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Hahahaha! I vote for that, Geepers! Mr. realwest, please click on that!

    ReplyDelete
  54. LOL realwest. Yeah the characters parents were a touch cruel, but not totally. He calls his group of kids "The Artful Dodgers". Amongst ourselves they are "The Baker Street Irregulars". The AI's name is Watson.

/the forum the hang out at is Madame DeFarge and Prossers Knitting Circle.
//Hey, Fagin went to university for 19th century literature.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Republicans suck!

/oh wait, calm down, spit the bit

    ReplyDelete
  56. Sigh - I did say BROWN GRAVY! Say is this your first day on the job?!?
Cause you know the first commenter on at the LibertyPub gets to eat and drink for free all night long! So slide down a Double Jack D. while your boss is fixing my fries with brown gravy - ya know, brown gravy like you'd serve with mashed potatoes!!
    ;')

    ReplyDelete
  57. Welcome, eatitorwearit! It sounds like you could use a drink! Can I get you anything? ;o)

    ReplyDelete
  58. You're close, this is my second day on the job! I just couldn't figure out who eats brown gravy on french fries, but we aim to please!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Nevermind what eatitorwearit wants (Hi there my friend!) I want's me free Double Jack D and French Fries with Brown Gravy!

OY! And I wouldn't go picking Geepers avatar at all but at least our resident shrink checks her e-mail real regular like!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Brown gravy on fries is the only way to go. Toss some cheese curds on first and you are ready to rock and roll.

    /mmmmm poutine....

    ReplyDelete
  61. Is it a southern thing, an eastern thing, a western thing? I am a midwesterner, and I've never heard of this!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Hey P2, that was Fagin's downfall - he went to University where they cluttered his otherwise fine mind with hokum Leftist and Liberal thoughts and he kinda misundertood when they said "it's all about the Children"!
    ;)

    ReplyDelete
  63. Never heard of what? Poutine? It's a Canadian thing. First done in Quebec and spread to all parts east and west by truckers. Best described as "heart attack on a plate". But it's sooooooo goooood!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Here you go.

I have to go to the bar to get that Jack. I'll be right back with that!

    ReplyDelete
  65. realwest: ROFLMAO. That's good. There's more to Fagin's story then that. Got part of it written down. A real tragic story, he does try to rise above when he can. He's a good kid that got a shitty deal. He lives with it and aims to try to help others similar to him.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Well, poutine's sorta a southern thang, down New Oreleans way but Brown Gravy straignt on French Fries is more a Pittsburg and Southern Pennsylavania thing, I seem to recall!

  69. Rise above it? Hell, I heard he became one of them Community Organizers!
    A Peanut or somesuch!

    ReplyDelete
  70. I'd have another but I gotta get out of here before littleoldlady shows up and wants he to help set up the buffet table.

    Thanks Bar Wench.

    'Night All.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Oh, Geepers, I'm sorry...she's off tonight, but she'll be back 24 hours at the usual time and place.

But if you're still leaving us, good night! Drive safely!

  72. Here's an interesting quote:

DNC spokesman Hari Sevugan said: “The message to opponents of change who would lie or misrepresent the truth should be clear. We are going to respond forcefully and consistently with the facts, and you will no longer be able to peddle your lies with impunity. Through tools like ‘Call ‘Em Out,’ you will be met with a rain of hellfire from supporters armed with the facts and you will be held to account.”

  75. Drive carefully, realwest! :o) Sleep tight!

  76. Minnesota at Detroit. Another win for Favre, no thanks to him!

Just throwing that across your pub tables. :o)

    ReplyDelete
  77. Got my second last drink. Don't know how longer I will be up. Laundry day tomorrow and might have a play date with Nietzsche set up. I love my weekends. :)

    ReplyDelete
  78. Well, it's pretty slow tonight, being Rosh Hashana. We may close a little early, but there will a few more people here tomorrow, I think.

Almost the entire staff is gone.

The new place is beautiful, though. Should only be a few more days.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Perhaps we should get last call now - we'll close in fifteen minutes, and re-open in the morning!

    Thanks for coming in! :o)

    ReplyDelete
  80. Don't go away yet Bar Wench. Just checking out some videos and stuff. BTW, everyone please check out my Blog. I got some great ideas and stuff that's coming down the pipe. I am upgrading my photography soon and wanted to show everyone where I started from.

/shameless blog pimping done for the day. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  81. I'm still here Phil! I'll look at your blog now.

    ReplyDelete
  82. I thought I would check one last time before heading to bed.

    Any fruit cups yet?

    How are you RW?

    ReplyDelete
  83. Very nice looking blog! Do you have design experience?

    ReplyDelete
  84. Evening Jorline. Still a little early for fruitcup. Hopefully the Fruitcupitron 5000 is working so we get it in a little under 3 hours from now.

/probably miss it because I will be sleeping in

    ReplyDelete
  86. Jorline, littleoldlady has the evening off for Rosh Hashana. She won't be serving fruit cup tonight, but she'll be back 24 hours from the usual time.

I heard there was going to be a shut down tonight, but things will open back up sometime in the morning.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Bar Wench: Nope no design experience at all. Just using the Blogspot templates at the moment. I will probably doing some self improvement in that area in the coming months. For what I am doing at the moment, and with other web resources at hand, it will suit for the time being. I have plans, big plans.

    ReplyDelete
  88. How did you guys choose your nicks? Mine is self-explanatory. :o)

    ReplyDelete
  89. Good morning P2. I hear ya, I told my wife I would come to bed by 11...I'm an hour and a half late.

Time to shut it down. I will see everyone tomorrow night.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Phil, please keep us updated on your "plans, big plans"! Why did I hear "Bond. James Bond" in my head just now?

    ReplyDelete
  91. eatitorwearit: Which header image? the three dots? Give me a little time and I will do something.

/thinking of a graphic idea, still needs some finetuning in my brain.

Phil, please keep us updated on your "plans, big plans"! Why did I hear "Bond. James Bond" in my head just now?

First, it's a combination of my first name and the class of D&D character I felt most at home playing.
Second, I will be telling about plans in my blog and trying to display as well. I think I have found a secondary passion.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Dungeons and Dragons? That's the Palladin part, not the Phil part, I assume. :o)

Gee, eatitorwearit...that's not your nic? I thought there was probably a good story behind it. DARN. :o(

    /five minutes in PhotoShop

    ReplyDelete
  97. Well, I want to thank you for being here tonight. You probably won't find anything live going on until the morning at the earliest. I think the person with the next shift could be the boss, who is in PST.

I can call you a cab if you need one. :o)

Good night, you guys! We hope to see you sometime tomorrow!
