I'm really sorry about the open bar, won't happen again, and I cover the costs!
You know, gettin' into this place is downright painful.
ReplyDeleteMy back hurts and I think I have a broken rib.
I could use some of that whiskey I know Cal has already ordered, so we'll nurse that bottle over here and look at the waitress' legs for awhile.
Here you are, Pink. I warmed it up a bit.
ReplyDeletesorry squatch - the broken rib is probably my fault - the stilletos.

The crazy is strong in Germany.
Tell me about it. I was talking (internet) to a German who insisted what 'Americans' did to the Native American Indians was much worse than I had been taught and unless I have Native American blood I have no moral authority to speak on the matter.
Well, some of my ancestors were Shawnee. Michener wrote a history-docu-type drama about my family called 'Centennial'.
You know what his reaction was?
"You seem very intelligent. May I ask what you do for a living?"
I told him I teach international relations at the Kemosabe School for Indian Princesses.
Last I saw of him.
/fuck with me, please.
You know, Atilla ...you don't have to live up to your nic!

ReplyDeleteUS Weighing Fresh Round of Bailouts for Smaller Banks
http://www.cnbc.com/id/33021738
"Treasury officials and regulators are weighing a fresh round of bailouts for banks that were deemed too small or too risky to qualify for earlier aid.
Representatives from the Treasury Department, Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. and House Financial Services Committee discussed the plan by phone Thursday, said California Bankers Association Chairman Dan Doyle, who was on the call.
Small community banks are struggling as commercial real estate and other loans go sour. Officials and industry representatives are considering how to get money to those banks, Doyle said Friday.
Other banking industry leaders confirmed that the conversations are taking place. They did not know when Treasury might announce the plan. Spokesmen for Treasury and the FDIC did not respond to requests for comment.
The money could go to banks whose ratings by regulators made them too weak to qualify for earlier rounds of funding. It may be limited to banks with less than $5 billion on their books."
Wait a cotton pick'n minute here! I've been hearing nothing out of the Obama Administration and their shoe polishers in the MSM other than that the recession is over and the economy is on the rise.
So why is the Treasury scared enough to now want to bailout smaller banks?
This administration is trying to have it both ways.
Stop the bail outs, get out of the way, and let the private sector grow.
I'd so much love to sing that song out loud in the land of the free!
ReplyDeleteWell, I already am playing the green-card lottery.
Until the results are out, I'll most probably have my divorce all settled and in case I win I am over asap.

The White Table Ceremony:
ReplyDeleteThe Ceremony:
Set for six, the empty places represent Americans still [our men and women] missing from each of the five services — Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard and civilians. This Honors Ceremony symbolizes that they are with us, here in spirit.
Some [here] in this room were very young when they were sent into combat; however, all Americans should never forget the brave men and women who answered our nation’s call [to serve] and served the cause of freedom with honor.
I would like to ask you to stand, and remain standing for a moment of silent prayer, as the Honor Guard places the five service covers and a civilian cap on each empty plate.
The table is round — to show our everlasting concern for our missing men.
The tablecloth is white — symbolizing the purity of their motives when answering the call to duty.
The single red rose, displayed in a vase, reminds us of the life of each of the missing, and the loved ones and friends of these Americans who keep the faith, awaiting answers.
The vase is tied with a ribbon, symbol of our continued determination to account for our missing.
A slice of lemon on the bread plate is to remind us of the bitter fate of those captured and missing in a foreign land.
A pinch of salt symbolizes the tears endured by those missing and their families who seek answers.
The Bible represents the strength gained through faith to sustain those lost from our country, founded as one nation under God.
The glass is inverted — to symbolize their inability to share this evening’s [morning''s/day''s] toast.
The chairs are empty — they are missing.
A Candle– Lit to remember that the light of America will always be the light in a world of darkness.
Let us now raise our water glasses in a toast to honor America’s POW/MIAs and to the success of our efforts to account for them.
{Brandy}

ReplyDeleteMayor Fills Single, Nine-Month-Old Pothole.
Dressed a bit like a Gitmo detainee, the mayor today filled a single pothole on Southeast Caruthers Street, one of many potholes marring the street between Southeast 11th and 12th avenues. Bureau of Transportation officials at the press conference said they’d learned about the potholes yesterday.
Asked how long the potholes had been there, the gathered transportation officials and the mayor said they didn’t know. So while the mayor prepared to do his part to repair the city street, I ducked into a business on Southeast Caruthers Street, Phoenix Media, to see if anybody there knew the answer.
“Since the snowstorm,” said Jonathan Pitts, a production manager at Phoenix Media, referring to the blast that crippled Portland in December 2008, nine months ago.
When did you report the potholes? “At least a month and a half ago,” Pitts said.
Then again.... maybe not.
