Report: Iran Refuses to Discuss Nuclear Program at Upcoming Talks in Geneva

Iran declared its refusal Tuesday to discuss its nuclear program -- including the disclosure of a second nuclear enrichment plant -- when it sits down at the negotiating table Thursday with the five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council and Germany, Reuters reported. A top Iranian official told the news agency that his country will not abandon its nuclear activities, "even for a second."

Iran's nuclear chief also announced Tuesday that his country built its newly revealed uranium enrichment facility inside a mountain and next to a military site to ensure continuity of its nuclear activities in case of an attack. The revelation comes as the Obama administration works up plans to push for new sanctions against the country, targeting its energy, financial and telecommunications sectors if it does not comply with international demands to come clean about its nuclear program, U.S. officials said Monday.

That stern look Obama delivered to them last week did a world of good!

The Chinese, who have a veto in the Useless Nations in Security Clowncil, are not so keen on sanctions against Iran.

China Opposes Iran Sanctions Sought by U.S.

China will not support increased sanctions on Iran as a way to curb its nuclear program, a government spokeswoman said Thursday.

Although China has generally opposed the use of sanctions, the announcement is sure to complicate President Obama’s efforts to impose tougher penalties on Iran, should international talks over Tehran’s nuclear ambitions, scheduled for Oct. 1, fail to make headway.

“We always believe that sanctions and pressure are not the way out,” said Jiang Yu, a foreign ministry spokeswoman, during a news conference. “At present, it is not conducive to diplomatic efforts.”
I'm sure when the ChiComs veto Obama's proposal, it will be blamed on Bush for alienating the entire world.

"Hey there 3 wood - well do YOU have confidence in the economy right now?!?"

Real, I have no confidence in the economy right now, for several reasons.

    1. I see no evidence of GDP growth or employment increases. I see incomes still shrinking.

    2. I see an Administration in Washington that is hostile to business and to private wealth.
