Good morning, afternoon, evening *everyone*!™

I'VE MISSED YOU GUYS! :-)

  1. HELLO, to all of my old friends! If you visited C2 while I was ... um ...SLEEPING (the nerve of me, I know! ;-) I want to thank you very much for coming!

Welcome to my new home...okay, TEMPORARY home, until the real site is up and running ;-) Although moving is usually traumatic, it's made much less so when you know you have FAMILY with you.

    {YOU GUYZ!} :-)

  2. Tark,

You knew to come looking, didn't you? ;-)

    How goes it? School okay?

  3. Wow! You've upgraded fruitcup! I am IMPRESSED.

    Goodmorning all. :)

  4. 'Morning, Pink! :-)

Have some fruit, it's typed fresh. Like my floral garni? ;-)

  5. This is kind of a familiar feeling. Once upon a time there was likely only 3 of us around at fruitcup time.

    G-d speed, Miguelito...wherever you are!

  6. Miguel ....he would love this place. Been too long.

    Nice video, littleoldlady.

  7. One of my favorites, Pink. I probably should get depressed watching/listening to it, but somehow I don't. ;-)

CATS was never my favorite show (I think I saw 3 stage productions), other than the staging/costumes and THAT song.

  8. We're missing a few of our dead-threaders. I hope they figure out at some point we've relocated the buffet.

  9. I know...if they don't get here soon I'll have to start singing.

    /THEN they'll be sorry! ;-)

  10. Maybe I'll let Hugh do it...

That's one production of Oklahoma I wish I could have seen!

    Promises, promises .....

    ;)

  12. You need Pi Guy for proper appreciation of things like "Oklahoma". I am terrible with this stuff. It's like a special language the two of you speak.

  13. I guess Broadway shows are an acquired taste...

Kinda like lox and bagel. ;-)

  14. Okay...to stop myself from singing, I may have to start laughing:

    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/09/11/tea-party-rally-sparks-dispute-potential-turnout/?test=latestnews

But there is some confusion over how many people will show up, and where Democrats are getting their estimates. A top aide to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi warned fellow Democrats in a memo obtained by FOXNews.com that up to 2 million people may attend.

"It looks like Saturday's event is going to be a huge gathering, estimates ranging from hundreds of thousands to 2 million people," Pelosi aide Doug Thornell wrote, noting that a demonstration held Thursday turned into an impromptu rally for Rep. Joe Wilson, who has come under fire for his outburst during Obama's nationally televised speech to a joint session of Congress

Conservatives have seized on this memo as proof Democrats are playing an expectations game. They say the House leadership wrote the memo in hopes it would be leaked and inflate expectations for the turnout anticipating that it will fall short.

    (What the html for "quote"...?)

  15. The weather today in D.C. is (relatively) chilly in the morning (for this time of year) and some rain in the early afternoon.

BTW, did they even have 2 million people for Obama's inauguration?! I think they were expecting that much but got nowhere near that.

/now I'm going to have to fact-check...because I'm here talking to myself ;-)

    Answer: NO!

  16. This is a nifty HTML site that was posted in another thread. Maybe you can make heads or tails of it.

  17. Hmmm ....TWO million? I know a bunch of libs that will deny deny deny that this was anything more than a blip on the political screen, and they will do their best to make it look like a bunch of whackos.

Two million of anything, though ....kinda hard to ignore.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Hey guys, school hasn't started yet! I'm just enjoying summer, waiting for Sunday so I can get back to my life--football!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yeah, and there might be a ton of whackos there, no doubt. But there will also be a ton of really good, honest people who are just fed up with the nonsense. I know I'd never go to one anyway because I'm not the protesting type at all.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Answer: NO!

    Yeah ...but he's no Beck.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yeah...but he's no Beck.

    HA.

    I would use this:

but most of the html shortcuts don't seem to work in blogspot..

    /GRRR!

  22. People are pissed and worried, Tark. I don't like the freaks being there either but at this point they'll do little more than swell the ranks of a righteous LARGE group of concerned citizens.

    C'est la vie!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Tark, are you on a trimester schedule?

It really doesn't matter if 200, 2000, 200,000 or 2 million show up. The MSM won't cover it.

    ReplyDelete
  24. We're just parking here temporarily, Littleoldlady. We can manage like this for now and get fancy at the new place. :)

    ReplyDelete
  25. Let's just hope those disgusting jerks don't get a stranglehold.

    ReplyDelete
  26. It really doesn't matter if 200, 2000, 200,000 or 2 million show up. The MSM won't cover it.

Fox will. You see Beck's latest ratings? He's running behind only O'Reilly in viewership. I don't think Fox wants 3 mil (Beck's viewer number) screaming at them for failure to cover it.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oh, I'm sure Fox will!

    That.is.all.

I was looking for that classic Infantada photo...the one where dozens of photographers were shown taking pictures of a Palestinian yout posing with a rock he is about to throw. Couldn't find it. :-(

    ReplyDelete
  28. I will look tomorrow for that one. Maybe Zombie has it?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Let's just hope those disgusting jerks don't get a stranglehold.

Tark, even if there were 200 freaks out of 2 million, they will be what is focused on.

    Tea. Parties. Must. Be. De-legitimized.

    You know this! ;)

  31. You're good for a little old lady!

I remember it from a different angle, but yes, that looks like it's the same setting.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Same idea, anyway. It all just reminds me of 5 Code Pinkos showing up and getting international coverage.

    Tea parties?...not so much.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Wow! Nice spread, littleoldlady! (I'm talking about the fruit, of course.) ;)

Just a quick check-in as we are going to work. I've always wondered how much the "weirdos" who show up for events are paid to do so and by whom.

/The media "giants" wouldn't stoop this low, now, would they? Heh.

    ReplyDelete
  34. gettinby! :-)

That's what happens when you sit in a chair in front of a computer screen for hours.

/OH. You mean the fruit! ;-)

Anymore it's nearly impossible to tell who's being paid by whom. I'm not sure the media HAS to (do they have any money left, anyway?) George Soros has a lot locked up, and I wouldn't put it past some groups on the right, either.

    GREAT to see you here!

  35. More on the protest in Washington today...

Saturday’s “Taxpayer March”– at which organizers expect anywhere from 20,000 to 200,000 people – as well as dozens of smaller marches around the country, will prove that the fledgling “Tea Party” movement is real...

  36. Bomb threat?! (Yesterday)

    http://blogs.abcnews.com/george/2009/09/bomb-threat-forces-evacuation-of-dc-tea-party-planners.html

DC Metro police has confirmed to ABC News' Jason Ryan that the DC Metro police had, indeed, evacuated the organization's offices after being told by the organization that it had received a bomb threat.

The threat came when a man called the FreedomWorks main line and told the organization's female receptionist: "I put a bomb in your building, bitch."

The FreedomWorks staffer who spoke with ABC News said that the organization has received multiple threats but that for some reason, the DC Metro police thought that this one was credible enough to evacuate the building.

  37. I am very surprised at this. ABC allowed John Stossel to "flounce"...

    http://blogs.abcnews.com/johnstossel/2009/09/im-moving-to-fox.html

    It's time for a change.

In one month, I leave ABC News.

In October, I will join the folks at Fox.

I plan to do a one hour prime time show every week on FBN, the Fox Business Channel, and contribute to various existing programs on Fox News Channel.

I’m grateful to ABC News for allowing me to do stories that challenged conventional wisdom, and occasionally enraged many of its viewers. But it’s said that everyone should change jobs every 7 years. I’ve been at ABC for 28 years ...

In my new job, I want to dig into the meaning of the words “liberty” and “limited government”. ABC enabled me to do some of that, but Fox offers me more airtime and a new challenge.

I’m still considering what I will do with my own show, one hour each week. Economics certainly. Exercises in understanding libertarianism. My “take” on the issues of the day. Kind of like this blog. In fact, maybe we’ll call it, Stossel’s Take?

I ask you for your ideas. A studio audience? Should I wander around Congress?

    To be continued...
