    'Morning, Littleoldlady!

  5. I posted a couple of articles downstairs ....Maureen Dowd doing her best to make me hypertensive, playing the race card:

    http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/13/opinion/13dowd.html?_r=1&partner=rss&emc=rss

...and Breitbart's new site has a decent article on the ACORN corruption in post-Katrina New Orleans (more race-card):

    http://biggovernment.com/2009/09/12/former-leftist-activist-turned-fbi-informant-pulls-back-the-curtain-on-acorn/

That new Breitbart site is fast moving to the top of my 'sites visited' list.

  6. I saw part of an interview of Breitbart done yesterday during the Washington march.

Know what was nice? Seeing so many people (like him) positively *energized* by the size and enthusiasm of the crowd.

My daughter's line was classic..."For the first time since Novemeber I'm proud of my country!"

/eat your heart out, Michele Obama!

  7. What I just LOVE about these tea parties is that the left is doing everything in their playbook to minimize them, to make them insignificant, but they just won't go away!

They grow and swell (just following the meme here, littleoldlady, bear with me) and people feel empowered and energized and CONNECTED.

    ReplyDelete
  8. You are very bad, pink! ;-)

That's because the right has (finally) stolen the left's playbook. (Gee, I hope they don't go as far as giant puppetheads!) And it's confusing to them.

Kind of hard to ignore tens of thousands of people when they're ... IN YOUR FACE.

Now, when we see Alinsky rules used by the right...oh baby! All hell will break lose!

Don't feel bad, Breitbart's article has a typo too.

  11. Now, when we see Alinsky rules used by the right...oh baby! All hell will break lose!

Liberals, when they finally grow up and get smart, become conservative in one form or another. The focus of the right, properly placed on Alinsky's tactics, will be brutal.

/two can play at that game

Put herd out to do "stuff."
    Get farm in order.
Checked out Drudge to see if outside world still there.
    Arrive for fruitcup.
    Good morning to all!!!

FUNNY! (Especially if you're an old sitcom fan.)

    It's phenomenal -- blue-ribbon quality.

    ReplyDelete
  22. She's VERY good!

    /we are blessed...

    ReplyDelete
  23. Love the article about jumping the shark.

Next time, instead of yelling out "You lie!," it should be "You DISCONNECT!" LOL

The President IS giving, though, and from what piddly ol' me can see, is that he is giving what he said he would. A great number of folks didn't listen too well.

These must be the same people who, when told things like "you don't qualify for this home (or whatever) loan" get angry AT the lender and blame others. (I'm attempting to put millions of people in a very small 'nutshell,' but I hope you see what I mean.)

/then they go home and kick the cat or something.

    ReplyDelete
  24. gettinby,

EXACTLY. I keep telling people..I am NOT angry at Obama. He is what he has always been, what he said he was. But I am FURIOUS at the people who voted for him!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'm moving in serious slo-mo today. Good thing someone else made the fruitcup...

    ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yes. And finally, some moderates and conservatives are getting off their stupid high horse and are fighting back. I don't agree with some of the fights (the "far out wingers"), but there are more than ample examples of him doing wrong and is what this guy was talking about all along.

Can't remember sending so many emails to elected officials as I have been lately. It's all I have time to do, but hopefully someone will listen who wants my vote.

By the way, been catching up on some of the comments here -- LOTS of really nice and really intelligent folks. This will be an excellent learningroom for me (I'm selfish that way, you know).

    ReplyDelete
  27. That's because the right has (finally) stolen the left's playbook.

I think the right has stolen back their playbook.

Like the Japanese of a couple hundred years ago who copied engineering books and left out critical data and made the drawings "beautiful" because they didn't understand what was important, the left thought that it was the "gathering" that was important, not gathering for a common cause, so it became nothing more than another party to attend to be with all the hip people, hence the street-theater atmosphere.

    Mmmmm kiwi

    ReplyDelete
  28. OMG! It's 'LT'. I'll check in and out today.

This is really nice. Thanks again, littleoldlady.

    ReplyDelete
  29. gettinby,

I stopped sending out emails. I just get form letters back.

    /arrogant sons 'o b's!

Speaking of "disconnect", imagine getting emails from Arlen Specter! BLECH.

Rick Santorum was a bit of a nut, but at least when you sent him an email, your question or issue was answered - intelligently.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Good morning to Geepers before I go! It's always been a pleasure reading you over the years.

You know, though, I don't recall 'us' fighting back THIS hard. Maybe after Carter somewhat, but this seems different to me.

    (LT=laundrytime, by the way).

    ReplyDelete
  31. GEEPERS! :-)

Very true! Yesterday's protest wasn't street theatre. It was from the heart!

My daughter's comment while watching it on TV: "For the first time (since November!) I am proud of my country."

    ReplyDelete
  32. gettinby,

Thank YOU for stopping by! :-)

  33. http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/tea-party-protesters-march-washington/story?id=8557120

Best line: "The president has warned us if we disagree with him he's going to call us out," DeMint said. "Well, Mr. President, we are out."

    ReplyDelete
  34. "For the first time (since November!) I am proud of my country."

Great line. Your daughter's a gem.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Wow. This headline from CNN: Tea party movement has anger, no dominant leaders.

    http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/09/12/tea.party.express/index.html

    What? No giant puppetheads?!

    ReplyDelete
  36. My daughter is a Raging Republican.

We are not exactly sure how that happened...

    ;-)

  37. Someone needs to invent a Roomba for laundry that goes around and picks up your dirty cloths and dumps them in the washing machine.

    ReplyDelete
  38. OMG, Geepers! You are a GENIUS!

Have you any idea how RICH you would be?! Just do it! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  39. Tea party movement has anger, no dominant leaders.

Yes, because the right knows who they are and how they feel, they don't need to be told what to think and be led around like sheep.

Once again, gathering for and because of a common cause.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Geepers,

There are so many issues, and different folks have different tipping points. That's why I like "Taxpayer Protest". It's an "umbrella" term, of course, but describes the diversity of the group very well.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Of course (naturally!) The Washington Post sees things differently...

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/09/12/AR2009091200971.html?nav=hcmodule

The crowd -- loud, animated and sprawling -- gathered at the West Front of the Capitol after a march along Pennsylvania Avenue NW from Freedom Plaza. Invocations of God and former president Ronald Reagan by an array of speakers drew loud cheers that echoed across the Mall. On a windy, overcast afternoon, hundreds of yellow "Don't Tread on Me" flags flapped in the breeze.

    ...

The demonstrators are part of a loose-knit movement that is galvanizing anti-Obama sentiment across the country, stoking a populist dimension to the Republican Party, which has struggled to find its voice since the 2008 elections.

NEWS FLASH, Wapo! I'm a registered Democrat who would have been there if it was at all possible.

  49. Are they NUTS?!

    In a word, yes.

Is it any wonder their readership is plummeting?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Roger Simon changes his mind...

One other note from an old protestor. When I made that statement to Glenn those many months back, I did it with the supposed authority of someone who had been at a lot of demonstrations when on the left. I can remember a couple that might have been nearly this big (not sure, really). But I can’t remember anything this size that was entirely non-violent. That’s rather miraculous for a two-million person demonstration and deserves the highest praise, though I doubt the mainstream media will say much. They’re still digesting how much they’re despised.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Geepers,

I should have bolded this line: They’re still digesting how much they’re despised.

  52. Blogspot isn't let me post the embed link (I know it's ME, but I prefer blaming Blogspot! ;-) ... but check out the MSNBC video at the Michelle Malkin link above.

    Surprisingly fair ... for MSNBC.

  53. That comparison clearly shows an easy million.

Gee, Ron Paul has gotten popular eh?

    ReplyDelete
  54. Hey y'all - good morning! I'm slacking off after just going through detailed instructions to two of our more illustrious personalities on how to open an account that will allow them to post on a blogspot.
Then they tell me that they are going to church and will try later on! GAH!
And hello litleoldlady!! And Geepers and everyone!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Ron Paul is only popular on some blogs...

    ReplyDelete
  56. {littleoldlady} - I didn't know you were a
    *gasp* DEMOCRAT!!
Well, welcome to our protest against the big spenders in government Federal, State and City!! LOL!
BTW, did you know that in President Obama's FIRST YEAR as President, HIS budget calls for a deficit greater than all the deficits George W. Bush ran in his last 4 years COMBINED?!
When will politicians start to realize that if expenses are greater than income, then ya got two choices (well, three if you're the Federal government): Print more money and lots of it, increase taxes and revenue or CUT EXPENSES!!
    Sheeesh!

    ReplyDelete
  57. realwest,

Well yeah...I'm Jewish and I grew up in Philadelphia. What else was I going to be?! ;-)

/although at this point I'm still a Democrat mostly because I'm too lazy to switch my registration and I'm none too fond of the Republicans either!

We are so screwed, economy-wise! (I'll let our resident economist explain the finer points of that statement when he gets here...) ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  58. Our resident economist is in or on his way to church right now and is one of the folks I mentioned who can't figure out how to get into a blogspot to make a comment!
But I've e-mailed the appropriate member of the committee and whenever she gets up she'll see the message!
And btw, both of my wives were Jewish Democrats and I converted them to Republican by using simple logic!
    /ducks to avoid incoming!!

  59. And btw, both of my wives were Jewish Democrats and I converted them to Republican by using simple logic!

You probably should have gotten married a few more times... ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  60. Ah, No, sorry lol, but twice was enough - I'm not sufficiently dedicated to a political party to get married and divorced again!
    LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Good morning everyone - littleoldlady, realwest, Pink, Geepers...!

Have to step away from the computer in a moment to get ready for church, but sitting here with my coffee and reading the headlines - I see msm is trying to diminish the numbers of yesterday's march; pow's in Afghanistan may be getting the right to challenge their detainment . . . no good news here. So I checked this blog and that delicious bowl of fruit was a sight for sore eyes!

Have a wonderful Sunday - bbl.
